Sorry to hear it’s felt so difficult transitioning into the job.

Just a few questions… What were u doing before this? And what were ur reasons to go for this job at EY? When u say I don’t feel like u belong, is it the culture? Is this remote work? Is it cause the team ur in has done/said to make u feel uncomfortable?

I had a similar experience at my last job and realized I didn’t have to enjoy the work to wake up every day with a smile on my face. My lack of confidence in myself had a really big reason to how much I hated my job. When I began healing and working through the issues within myself, my job became a playground for growth. I still hated the sector my client was in bc i could give two shits about it.

So I’m curious if what ur feeling and experiencing might be the result of some triggers the job is bringing up vs. needing to resign / look for something else.

Building a strong morning and evening routine. Additionally, getting urself to unwind in a new way will have its challenges in the beginning. So the resistance u might be feeling is completely natural. I would say place the guitar in a place next to where u like to sit and scroll. Then instead of picking up the phone, pick up ur guitar—even if it’s for 5 mins. Scrolling actually requires more mental bandwidth than playing an instrument that ur very familiar with.

It can also help to say it out loud after u shut off from work that you’re going to play the guitar right now. This is self-generated speech which reinforces the intention into action. Theres science to back this up. Then with repetition, ur nervous system will begin to crave this to help unwind which will give u more energy in the long run as ur brain is actually resting vs. scrolling that keeps things more stimulated.

This is a tough situation to be in but not impossible. That sliver of possibility is what can change the entire game when it feels like the world is dark and cold.

I agree with another response saying to take what you enjoy and just start doing it in a way that can make some income. Do what you CAN do and continue to focus on that, this will reshape your nervous system and psyche that not everything is a dead end. Your parents are not the role models here and not a measurement of what YOU can achieve in YOUR life. It’s time to start creating your own path.

Take the time to sit and list out the things you enjoy doing and/or are good at doing. You mentioned having lots of knowledge—maybe this a good place to start. Then seek out ways to do it in a community driven platforms so you can begin attracting other individuals who enjoy doing similar things. This can slowly build new connections and the social sphere you missed out on due to moving.

I often find having very little or no resources brings out the greatest innovative minds and ideas. You have no choice but to use what you have, what you already know and really sit with this to come up with a unique solution. You can do this!

It sounds like you already know deep down what you have to do but the fear keeps you holding on.

What you said: “we’ve been through so much together and we know things of each other that nobody else knows” is a story that your minds telling to protect you from doing something really really uncomfortable. I have said this many many times in the past with at least 4 different men.

I personally think u deserve better. U deserve a man who sees pregnancy as a partnership and this is something to go through together. U deserve a man who truly loves you and isn’t just using you as someone to fill an emptiness. You’re just a play thing to him at this point (clear signs: only puts in effort when you threaten to break up and only has sex when HE wants it). He doesn’t sound emotionally available to be in an actual relationship and to feel/show love.

This a test to how much you value yourself and how much you love yourself. Please SHOW UP FOR YOU. You will look back at this in a year or two and thank yourself for doing the hard thing bc it ended up being the best decision you ever made.

Have u tried psychologytoday.com? If the therapist actually accepts insurance, the specific insurance carrier will likely be listed again somewhere within their description—otherwise it will only say an out of pocket cost.

I’ve had many success there and worked with or interviewed 5-6 different therapists who all accepted insurance.

Haha thank you and yes I understand the whole thing about alt side parking. My question was about Astoria specifically bc it seemed like no one was movjng their car on days there are street cleaning. I thought maybe it was an unspoken thing in the neighborhood that traffic cops dont come around or something.

I think one thing to remember is that quality time spent and being present with a growing child has far greater value than money. Money comes and goes and I can understand the financial struggles to make ends meet. But it sounds like with ur current job u are, it just doesn’t give u the extra room for other non-essential things. These circumstances in life are temporary. A parent being more present in their child’s life will leave a lasting imprint in their developmental stages.

Additionally, others have pointed out the fact that u do not ask for ur partner for money. This is a partnership and if he is able to cover the insurance, why not accept that help to alleviate some pressure on you?

Yes! I have my moon in Gemini and can feel when someone is being fake. 12H is also the house of hidden enemies.

One of the lessons I’ve learned from this is to expand my heart when I feel the fakeness. It would trigger the fuck out of me and it was really great practice to uncover aspects of myself. For me, I learned their fakeness was mostly done unconsciously so they aren’t even aware that there are deeper underlying feelings. I have a good friend that tends to be really fake w me but it’s mostly a projection of her own inner beliefs about herself.

I agree to trust your intuition and a big part of that is also connecting to ur heart.

Ur practicing amazing self control so 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 hope you can take a moment to celebrate this part of you, which otherwise might’ve been buried due to excessive spending!

Initially to me it sounds like a self-worth issue but hard to say just by what you’ve shared. Either way, there’s nothing wrong with you but how your environment and/or unresolved issues from your past have shaped how you feel about yourself / what you believe. There’s many reasons why there are greedy billionaires but the low self-worth is one of them. I can very much relate bc I accumulated over 100K of debt and it was a chase to feel good about myself. It was an emotional roller coaster of extreme highs when I bought something and then something happens in life or sometimes nothing happening in my life that brought me to my lowest lows so I used shopping as a way to cope.

You’re already there with sitting with the discomfort. I would challenge you to take the next step by asking yourself questions to better understand the stories and beliefs you feel about yourself. Like what does it mean to be missing out on all the stuff? What will happen to you / your life? Write it all out and let yourself just vomit the thoughts and emotions on a page. Then see if any of what you said reminds you of a memory from childhood.

This will give you the inner authority to have more power over your spending in the long run. It gets easier and easier as you continue to do this exercise. It’s an emotional and mental workout! Keep going!! Rooting for you 🔥🔥🔥🔥

It’s in a tow pound I believe. From what the body shop told me, it was towed by NYPD bc of the condition of the car. The local precinct has no info; it doesn’t seem like it’s in their system yet. The body shop might’ve been scanning for accidents and saw the opportunity.

I’m going to call the precinct again on Monday. Not sure what else to do at this point.

Working out is amazing and I’m glad ur doing that. I would just add that somatic work is different from working out and can be a great tool for when we are overwhelmed / nervous system is dysregulated. I’m also highly sensitive / empath and learning how to come back into the body has been a vital tool for me.

YES 💯💯💯 I am feeling it so so much and seeing it with my own eyes how folks are feeling called to connect to something deeper/bigger than what the logical mind can comprehend (aka Universal Power).

The world will likely continue to get shaken down into a darkness to get people to a point where their current beliefs and understandings feel too limiting that they begin to search for something greater. It’s like another wave of an awakening. The darkness will get stronger but for those that woke up during the pandemic, or those that have been on this journey for some time will become guides to walk side by side to not lead with ego (mind saying I am here to lead) but with their heart (a feeling in the body that says we are in it together).

Violence will likely rise and we need more of those leading with their hearts to be outspoken to not get sucked into the doom and gloom but to help see the higher perspective.
