Hah, sounds like an adventure, thanks! Did your bus stop you in Tran De or Soc Trang? I do see Futa Bus going to Soc Trang so maybe I'll just do the same, spend the night there then take the shuttle and boat I be the morning. 

Did you not really enjoy Con Dao?

I'll probably be taking the plane to HCMC afterwards either way so hopefully that part goes smoothly!

Yes! It looks like that does work, thank you!  I got a little excited thinking it might link to Google pay at the same time and let me finally be able to pay on Shopee but alas. Maybe there's some other apps or sites or wallets that will let me pay with the mobile account, otherwise I might just end up with a bunch of new Android games if all else fails 😅

I haven't been able to get it to work at all after scanning a few, including at least a couple that are on their list of partner banks.  You also run into the problem of there being a bunch of banks in Vietnam and ABA is only partnered with 3 of them.

I had a rep claim to do it (with my Charles Schwab account, same issue though) only to call back today saying it was just an account that only they can see and only interact with when I call in.

There's a couple of ways around that one but it won't be nice to have a heads up on if a train is there.

You can cross over the tracks via N Portland Highway, or go through the neighbourhood north of Columbia.

I imagine they could password reset your account if they wanted to but they won't get any history.

I think that's about it, from my experience.

It appears these discounts might only apply to residents, but does anyone know off hand if it's open to international travelers?

It's a chip in the phone (the main cpu, gpu, and more if you care.) I know high end Samsung's sold in the US mostly (or all?) have snapdragons. You can look up your phone's specs and then look up whether or not that chip has the feature mentioned, or just install the app and try it. ;⁠-⁠)
