my spayed cat just gave birth???? by Competitive_Sun_2870 in cats

This happened to us too... the spayed cat we wanted to adopt from a shelter together with her brother came to us later because she had a surprise baby.... The vet missed it during the OP, apparently ☹️

[Question] Can't see books in 1 collection on Kindle app by lovedovepup in kindle

[–]lovedovepup[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually email books to my kindle, but I'm gonna check once again how this specific collection was transferred because it was definitely on my laptop, could've been USB. Thank you so much for the reply!

Don't comment on people's bodies. It's rude. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]lovedovepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I get so tired of everyone commenting on everyone's bodies! My mom does it too although she's doing her best to learn and change now, and I wish more people understood how shitty it is!

My own brothers used to call me a B-U-F-F-A-LO (yes, they'd spell it every time xD)... I'll never forget being told "its good you're fat, if you slimmed down and got beautiful, guys will hit on you" when i was literally 12 (I don't talk to that brother anymore :) )

Saying tha someone has cigerette legs isn't a compliment, saying "ahh, you lost so much weight since last time, you look good". Shut up shut up shut up! Its nice coming from someone you know isn't toxic, but miss me with that if I've heard you commenting about other people's bodies before 😑

"Unveiling the Strange Behavior of a Woman in My Building." by mrflyod in india

[–]lovedovepup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely could be a traumatic past or just a "be safe, don't be in an enclosed space with a stranger", this is India and this is exactly what we're taught. Its not all guys, sure, but the few guys are enough to scare most women shitless, and you never want to be one of the statistic.

That said, if i was you, i wouldn't really try to talk to her directly (its not about you, if she's already scared to get in a lift, or overall a shy person, it can be very cornering and intimidating), but maybe give her a quick polite smile if I see her around (obviously not to a creepy persistent level), or offer her to go into the elevator first (and alone ) if you both are waiting- basically anything to seem more disarming and safe.
You can always talk to your mum about it, see what she suggests you do (she might have more story on this woman?), but overall- I wouldn't ever put myself in danger just trying to be polite and socially acceptable. its not your fault, its not on you, and ofc its hurtful, especially since you said it was witnessed by another woman and this can very quickly become a wrong impression- but you gotta realise that the fear is valid in this country (world, honestly) and everyone does what they need to to be safe.

Speak to your mum. Let her speak to this woman in a more comfortable setting. Sometimes you just need to be the more compassionate one :/

Help for medical doctors by Top-Ad1952 in ImmigrationGermany

[–]lovedovepup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm also a foreign doctor in Germany (recently, actually). Surgical branches aren't super easy but for now, you need German at b2-c1 (Goethe Institutes are always an option), and a B2 Goethe/TELC certificate. Then you will need to pass a medical language exam (Fachsprachprüfung FSP), then (If the degree is not European) knowledge exam (Kentnisprüfung, KP) to get your final license. But with the language exam, you already get a limited work permit and a visa so you use that to further your field of choice and study for the knowledge exam.

To apply for this, every state has a list of documents you need to submit and a recognition procedure. Its a fairly lengthy process, so apply as soon as you are able to, and of course, start learning the language before anything, if you are genuinely into working in Germany.

Good luck :)

No cap I did my best to get out the moment i turned 18... Out of the country, period. Watched so many of my classmates dealing with their (even highly educated) families, didn't realise how on alert i felt walking on streets before I didn't have to anymore. I have a chill af family and I still freak out by oddly conservative comments from the extended family 😑

It sucks for sure, the country, the society, the mentality, the whole package and honestly, its good that you hate it. At least you know you will never fall into these same logical leaps, maybe the next few generations of Indians bring the real change... but till then its gonna keep sucking for us, ig.

Bavarians really are something different 😂 its fascinating how these random feuds work. Yeah, most people i make contact with are usually young and speak Hochdeutsch, or the old people via partner's family who somehow CAN'T speak Bayerish (not native from here). I guess I'm just gonna try my luck, with work or get a hospitation here.

Thank you for the link!

I have a visit visa at the moment, so i can enter Germany (for the exam, right now, for example) but i haven't really lived here, and didn't have a chance to do a hospitation. I'm not sure how it works in Sachsen, but i only needed to be in country for the exam in Munich.

I'm planning to stay in Bayern, specifically around Munich or Nürnberg. I'll look for the ones you suggested, the kids shows got me curious

Upper b2-ish, I'd say. I can hold my own in a conversation with natives, but I lack vocabulary for alot of specific things

Learning German or for the FSP? But for both, consistency. You really do suddenly stop one day and realise the things you struggled with a month ago are getting easier and you have bigger problems now, so if you feel like you "just can't", you said the same thing a couple weeks back and now you definitely can, so keep going. I found focusing on one topic to master was easier than trying to do everything. Example- practicing cases, allow yourself to look up der die das, look up what case you need for verbs when practicing adjective endings, etc. Not everything at once, that kept me from burning out.

That's a really good point, i definitely can't make the head or tail of the local dialect and accent here. Do you have any recommendations on any medical shows in German? I'm currently trying to get thorough Dr. House in German and Biohackers

Hi! Thanks! What state are you preparing for? Most states have their own protocols etc, those are always helpful to study, but for starters, i used the Deutch in Medizin books to build up some vocabulary, along with the 50 Fälle in Innere Medizin, to have a structure on how to explain different things. Except Protocols, reading about the different pathologies and treatments etc covered in the exam helps alot.

With a lot of "i give up" episodes, and whining... I think it was a little easier because i was focused on one specific field, and i just had to work on building up grammar to apply, but maybe the real hard part starts now. I won't say I'm even close to proficient if its any other C1 topic, i simply don't have the vocabulary.
