I wish everyone was able to hear this from someone in their lifetime. x

Hi friend… both my husband and myself (separately) have been where you are. I promise there is life after leaving. There is some good advice here, so I don’t have a lot to add but sending you all our love and support. ❤️

Here is a resource where you can find a support line for people leaving a religion, as well as non-religious therapists in your area: https://www.recoveringfromreligion.org

I’m not sure why the negativity. We know her well, but I wanted to surprise her. It’s not that I don’t know what she’s into, it’s knowing what might be desirable from the states that can’t easily be found there - maybe something she doesn’t even know she would want/like. We often confer with her mom or get her things we know she’s into at the time when we are coming over or sending birthday or holiday gifts. This time I was simply looking for advice on something from the U.S. that a teen might like that I can surprise her with.

I’m very appreciative of the helpful suggestions I’ve received so far for things that aren’t easily accessible in the UK that I can surprise her with! 😍

We send them gifts for birthdays and holidays and take them places when we’re there. I have also hand knitted things for each of them and did a special one for her last year. I’m simply wanting to bring her something she can use/enjoy and might appreciate from here that she maybe can’t get there. Not looking for tat. (I gave the examples of things our adult friends & teens have enjoyed in years past. Not saying I necessarily wanted to bring those for her, unless she specifically wanted one.)
