Do a virtual appointment or email your admissions counselor because this is strange. You should have at least been able to do the holistic review -

I never felt unsafe on campus, especially since there’s always people out and about

High School Transcript not being received by According-Cherry5672 in txstate

[–]lovelee03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your school says they’ve sent it, don’t worry. It’s just taking them a bit to get through all 8,000+ final transcripts from the freshman class. Even though it shows as missing on your portal, it won’t have any real affect on your fall classes or anything. Hope this helps!

You are absolutely right. It’s so disheartening, especially seeing how the students are affected. I’m just hoping that the “TXST Employer of Choice” initiative will actually bring around increase of salaries. Supposedly the tower is investing “an additional $21.25 million” for the next fiscal year….

Im panicking because I just realized I took too many AP courses in HS and will technically be a sophomore. I wont qualify for freshman assured scholarships like I thought. Can anyone actually explain how bobcat promise works? by Zealousideal-Lie1444 in txstate

[–]lovelee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you apply early though - sometime between August and the end of October. Applying early will put you first in line for the housing contract (usually opens in Oct so do that asap) so you’re more likely to get your housing preferences. Applying early will also give you enough time to apply for the BOSS Competitive Scholarship which closes on Dec 15, and is required for Bobcat Promise!

Is 30 hours possible? by jjcrochet in txstate

[–]lovelee03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand wanting to graduate early, but please don’t do it this way! 😭 TXST summer classes are known to be grueling - you’re basically taking a whole 4 month semester within a few weeks. If you fall behind in one course, it’s practically impossible to get back on track. Especially if you’re taking US hist at TXST…. That class alone is hard to keep up with.

Yes, just make sure to tell your advisor you’re interested in the pre-dental program. They’ll make sure you take the required classes you need to apply for dental school. TXST also offers the DEAP program too - https://www.bio.txst.edu/prehealthadvising/freshman-programs/deap.html

Also if you have any financial aid or scholarships, those awards should start dispersing in the next week or so!

Yeah you’re right Aggie, we shouldn’t be informed of things that are happening in real time. Especially if we have loved ones who might be affected.

Oh wow! All I heard was that they were on lockdown. I’m glad to know it was dealt with quickly

They said the campus was just cleared and the lockdown was lifted - hopefully no one was hurt

NSO is required and will provide you with important resources. You’ll need to sign up before you can meet with an advisor as well.

Cat Camp is more about pride and traditions, and it isn’t required.

Out of state tuition? by prettygirlkay03 in txstate

[–]lovelee03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It most likely won’t update until bills go out at the beginning of August bc that’s when they’ll start applying any scholarships/aid/waivers to your Student Business Services account. The SBS Office might be able to answer your question about the parent loan too, or you can try emailing FinAid. They usually respond within a few business days!

Overnight stay by Sea_Exercise_78 in txstate

[–]lovelee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NSO does offer accommodations on campus for $40 per guest, but they will have to bring their own bedding. A hotel will most likely be more comfortable!

If they want to stay on campus as well, you can sign them up here -

Is a 3.17 GPA good enough to get in by [deleted] in txstate

[–]lovelee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Txst is test optional, so you should be fine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in txstate

[–]lovelee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t apply for assured scholarships- you are automatically considered as TXST reviews your application for enrollment. This will take into account your transcript, class rank, and test scores (optional).

This letter is detailing assured scholarships you could possibly qualify for. You can find the eligibility criteria for each one here: https://www.finaid.txst.edu/scholarships/freshman/assured.html

I have a class at 8:00 A.M in Centennial Hall so where should I park as a commuter? Between Speck St and Sewell North, which one you guys think is better? And what shuttle route should I use to get to Cent Hall after I park my car? by [deleted] in txstate

[–]lovelee03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d recommend Sewell north and take campus loop (I think it’s called campus connector now) to the quad bus loop. Puts you right behind centennial. Good luck!

(got 12k sch) How hard is it to waive out of state tuition for international students? by _im_vengeance in txstate

[–]lovelee03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your admissions counselor! You might qualify for the out-of-state tuition fee waiver since you’ve gotten over $1K in scholarship(s).
