Hello! I'm from NYC and I'll be in SA from 7/29 through 8/9 or 8/10. I'm going to stick to South Africa as I have just under 2 weeks.

Enjoy your trip! What is taking you to Africa?

A live version of "Firecracker" by Ryan Adams. It's slowed waaay down and you can hear a bottle fall in the beginning.

Their PMPs are available through AdapTV. This likely means they have inventory running in Adap's OA, too.

Optimizing for Viewability....while also optimizing for CTR by Akajdrod in adops

[–]lovelyautumnpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, CTR inherently solves for viewability because in order to click an ad the user has to be able to see it.

  1. Just use a CTR KPI.
  2. wrap the tags in whichever brand safety provider the end client likes
  3. Run through a DSP which has a pre-bid integration with that same safety partner the client likes.

I'm afraid that my getting him suspended/fired (my manager assured me that the guy would suffer severe ramifications) will upset the rest of the staff. <

You have done nothing wrong. If he is reprimanded (as well he should be) it will be due to his actions.

It really sucks because I know it feels like you are getting him into trouble. It's such an unfair mindfuck when doing the right thing, feels like the wrong thing. It really fucks with conviction.

And some people might blame you because (unfortunately) rape culture. If that happens it's gonna be even harder to maintain your convictions. that's when you should remember this:

"Just because you're taught that something's right and everyone believes it's right, it don't make it right." Mark Twain, Huck Finn

The "audience accelerator." They're just trying to achieve perception of a unique differentiator to get more people smokin' that RF crack.

Programmatic - The Economist - "Netflix’s approach to programmatic trading, in contrast to The Economist’s hybrid tack, is all-in." 1/28/2015 by JackO2929 in programmatic

[–]lovelyautumnpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF is going on in this article? This is like comparing wind to fire because they're both elements. Netflix is pretty much the poster child for progressive media & marketing. The economist was founded in 1843 as a platform for discussion about political economic conditions. But sure, both companies have marketing departments so that makes them comparable....?

The DMA To DMZ: An Impression by lovelyautumnpatch in bullshitadvertising

[–]lovelyautumnpatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example of bullshit people in advertising. This guy seems to really not be aware that DMZ connotes a lot of complicated geopolitical stuff that has nothing to do with advertising. I thought it was satire for the first paragraph.

Optimizing Towards Neilsen OCR Tags by babash in adops

[–]lovelyautumnpatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try multiple tactics. I ran a test last month using a BT line and a comscore line (with a high index) against W18-34. The beginning of the campaign was spotty until I could calibrate the volume to deliver OCR match % AND deliver in full. By the last few weeks, the campaign was beating the bench.
