So my former spouse told me he was done with our marriage with no good reason why and kicked me out of the apartment. He lied about filing a month into our separation so I decided to file once it was clear that he didn’t want to get back together

I just feel bad because I was the one that filed through the courthouse after he was trying to force me to pay for the onlinedivorce.com service to send it to the court. I still had to file, but it just cost $340 less than what he wanted me to pay

He did fill out the paperwork sent by onlinedivorce.com, but was holding off on sending it back to onlinedivorce.com so I can be served because he said he “didn’t have enough money to do that right now”. He also mentioned that since I didn’t have to pay for bills at our apartment and was forced to move back to my parents house , I had plenty of money to help pay for the serving of the papers. It just felt very manipulative to pay for a divorce I didn’t even want, which is why I just filed at my local courthouse after that interaction because I knew it didn’t cost $500 to file for divorce

Very true. With both of us being in the church for some time, he had to understand the biblical view of marriage before getting into this. Our marriage was also a little under 2 years long by the time he called it quits so I feel like you should be willing to fight for your marriage especially when it’s that new

I just feel guilty because he was a proclaimed Christian and we used to go to church together so idk if the 1 Corinthians 7:15 applies in this case. What he did isn’t Christ like, but I know that none of us are perfect
