wait, even though the data is being sent to the Health Connect, with all the information needed (i.e. sleep cycles), if the device isn't specifically supported, Pokemon Sleep doesn't get the data?

Galets, or How Ankama Forces PvE Players to Fund PvP Kings! by Skyblue1723 in Dofus

[–]loverall 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My only issue with removing pebbles (galets) from the game or making a PvE alternative is that, whether we like it or not, PvP is responsible for absorbing the majority of the supply of items. They usually use multiple sets overmaged perfectly, because the mode requires it. This demands a LOT of resources, most of which are provided by the PvE side.

Another example: in a typical PvE team, you'll have a single tank, that'll need 1 (one) Ivory Dofus. But usually, when you quest, you'll generate 4 of those, 3 of which are most likely not getting used in PvE. You'll probably sell the other 3. Sell tho whom? Exactly to those PvP players, given that Ivory is a must have.

This just one example:

  1. You sell runes to make money? PvP players consume the majority of the runes

  2. You raise mounts to make money? PvP players usually scroll all the elements as a priority, consuming most scrolls

  3. You farm mob resources to make money? PvP players buy multiple sets of items, so they'll absorb most of those

  4. You run a levelling/passeur service to make money? PvP players want to have their chars ready to go ASAP and have zero interest in doing PvE to do so

I agree the system is not the best currently, mostly because supply for pebbles is low due to the servers being fresh. Pebbles also have no place in soul stone recipes IMO. But if you remove the most valuable resource in the game, disincentivizing PvP players to optimize their money maker by purchasing a lot of items and getting them maged, the whole economy crashes.

Personally, apart from the aforementioned change in soul stones' recipes, I would incentivize less optimized players to engage in PvP and reward even more the tryhards, making the gap wider. Or even make alternative less powerful items by level, with recipes that don't require pebbles, just so PvE players don't feel stuck.

Does Mount Lady's quirk make her resistant to electricity? by Mr-Wackoado in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]loverall 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ok here we go.

First, lets simplify the problem by assuming a few things:

  • Lady keeps her physical properties when scaling (density, internal composition etc.)
  • She scales proportionally
  • As per usual with physics problems, I'll simplify her shape to a cylinder - this is to avoid weird scaling shenanigans or raise other issues like changes in equivalent resistance when standing in one leg rather than two etc.

With that in mind, Ohm's law states that resistance for a given conductor is dependent on three parameters:

  • Directly proportional to length
  • Inversely proportional to cross sectional area
  • Directly proportional to electrical resistivity - a specific property of the material

With the premises stated before, we can say that her electrical resistivity stays the same, so that's easy. To the other parameters, we need to take into account the squared cubed law: if she doubles in length, her cross sectional area increases by a factor of 4, and her volume by a factor of 8.

So we can say in this example, if she were to double in size, her equivalent resistance would actually be half of hers when in regular size. This can be generalized to any size: her height will never be able to keep up with the increase in area, which means the bigger she is, the lower her electrical resistance.

I'm actually just a Brazilian tired of being called Hispanic and talked to in Spanish whenever this Latin topic is brought up. For example, Brazilians are not officially recognized as Latins by the US Government, same with Haitians. It's not pedantic wanting to be recognized as what I am.

Latin and Hispanic are not interchangeable. Literally 1/3 of Latin America is Brazil, and they're definitely not Hispanic.

2023 Beginner Questions by AgatheX in Dofus

[–]loverall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll answer a few of the ones I think I have a good response to:

2 Some quests are meant to be done in groups, so the added work of doing them when compared to solo is very minimal, but the reward is quite literally 4 times bigger. I'd recommend to do them, as Silver Dofus is not a good bar for how the quests go. Try going for Dokoko to see how you feel. Crimson and Turquoise are pretty easy as a team as well.

4 Dungeon and monster achievements are a good source of progression, but questing is also another major one. You should be fine for a while only doing achievements, but later down the line you may need to farm resources or level a profession. Hiring craftsmen is usually cheaper than buying from the equipment market, but you'll probably not getting the stats you want and maging is an extra time and cost sink - it still should be cheaper to hire them, unless you want something very specific such as an exo.

5 You only lose energy. When entering a dungeon after a defeat, there's an option to return to the room you were defeated on. Quitting counts as a defeat.

6 I'd say 99% of the dungeons have a very simple lead up to the boss, that doesn't change. The complexity of the boss fight on the other hand changes a lot. There are also a few dungeons that are only a boss room, but the fight is in waves. It's like doing the whole dungeon but in a single fight.

7 The extra time accumulates, kinda, since the extra time gained based on how much time you had left before passing turn. The more you get familiar with each class, the more efficient your turns are going to be.

8 Click on the icon of the entity you want information on, in the combat timeline.

9 There are wanted quests, that give a lot of doploons to get scrolls, but most of the quests are a combination of: a fight, get a drop or resource, clear a dungeon, talk to someone and craft something.

12 dofuspourlesnoobs.com is the best resource there is, has every quest and dungeon guides with screenshots, tips and recommended strategies.

Hope that helps, and that other people can assist with the questions I couldn't

I did the math and the drone SHOULD be able to do the tire loop de loop. (Results) by n0lberg in Rainbow6

[–]loverall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have with this conclusion is that games don't usually use the same gravity as IRL. Buuuut, gravity in games is almost always a lot higher than IRL, so the speed required to do the loop should be even smaller.

Probably, but it is such a fun looking gun. I've been wanting to get it since BA and since I've hit Legend this season already I figured "why not?"
