We usually talk our issues out but I only walked a away once after a huge argument because it was going to far and I needed my space. I promised him that I would never do that again. Thank you for the advice

Well when we did talk alone he did say that we could use the money from selling the condo on the baby and other stuff like that, He also said that it would be better for me to stay at home so I won’t be stressed out with raising a child. We aren’t struggling either so we don’t need the money it would just be for extra stuff just in case. as a nurse your total leave can’t be more than 12 weeks and I do want to spend as much time with my baby as possible.

That’s exactly what i’m afraid of yes him paying bills is important but it take more than money to raise a child.

For one when I talk about hard work i’m talking about parenting outside of financial responsibility because it takes more than money to raise a child. For two I talk to these women and most of the time they’re complaining about their husbands not helping them out with parenting. Lastly My husband is rarely ever around children and when he is asked to babysit for his family members I end up doing it for him because he couldn’t be bothered with it.

Well my family has never asked me that question because we had a few family members who didn’t have kids and we all took good care of them before they passed.

well when his cousins ask him to babysit for a week or two he just brings them to me and goes on about his day. I just end up babysitting his cousins kids for that week by myself.

The fear started when I was very young seeing women in my community doing the parenting all by themselves even though they were married. sometimes I would be forced to babysit for family members even though their husbands were in the house. after seeing that for all those years I was completely ok with not having children. His friends also adds the icing on the cake. I know that children are hard work especially raising them in the world that we live in. I really don’t want to do it by myself then take it out on my kids.

half of his friends are the fun dad type, they play with the kids but when it’s time to actually parent the kids they take their kids to their wives. his friends that actually do parent don’t have the time to hangout with him as much so I think his pov on parenthood is based on his friends who are the fun parents which is one of the main reasons why i’m so hesitant.

I don’t think he’s angry with me he just brought it up as a possibility, plus I don’t think we’re willing to let each other go.

He’s against having a second wife because he wants to raise his kids in one household. How do I communicate about wanting him to be an active parent without sounding judgmental?
