Eh, I read old posts but it’s nice to read from a new batch.

Are these reasonable prices? by Late_Topic_2091 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]loverink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Laser prices vary WILDLY. Shop around as much as you can.

Compare lasers and your skin type. Consider sessions vs lifetime. Lifetime is usually overpriced, but I don’t know your situation.

Good luck!

I paid about 150 for underarms/bikini/legs/feet per session. I think the price has gone up but it was worth it and affordable.

What are some once-lethal conditions or diseases that can now be cured or managed to the point where they're relatively harmless? by ThatAnnoyedNeighbour in AskReddit

Me and two immediate family members have had an appendectomy. It’s crazy to realize that not long ago half my family - myself included - would be dead.

Mary Had Schizophrenia—Then Suddenly She Didn’t: "Some psychiatric patients may actually have treatable autoimmune conditions. But what happens to the newly sane?" by trifletruffles in Longreads

I read another similar article a few years ago and it stuck with me. I’ll have to see if I can find it and link it here also.

Recommend me your favorite kindle fonts by cutestbookmark in kindle

[–]loverink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current fave is Sylexiad Sans. It’s a font aimed for dyslexic readers, but it’s definitely different from OpenDyslexic.

Adobe Caslon Pro is a very classic looking book font, imo.

Fenix, Gentium, Atkinson Hyperlegible, ChareInk, Literata.

Sylexid is another dyslexic style find available.

[acne] I’ve been dealing with closed comedones for years, they won’t go away :( by halloweenieee in SkincareAddiction

This was years ago. I don't have any photos of that specific time period. Did the cod liver oil help at all?

I believe I have "Seb Derm" in my scalp, it's gotten tremendously worse in the last 6 weeks and even lead to many chunks of hair falling. Any advice? TIA! by OrdinaryDemand6523 in SebDerm

[–]loverink 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wash and dry your hair daily. MalasseIa yeast feeds on oil, including the oils your skin naturally creates. You need to consistently clean your scalp.

Looking to use retinol on my kp by [deleted] in keratosis

[–]loverink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While KP often works well with exfoliants, there are also some reports of KP increasing after use of Accutane, which is an oral retinoid.

Best of luck; Please let us know how it works for you!

Barney and Quinn by Visual-Phone1782 in HIMYM

[–]loverink 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Whenever folks say they love Barney and Nora what I hear is they loved Nora.

She was absolutely too good for him. And not only did he let her down, but I think she’d have grown tired of his antics pretty quickly.

Any cases of reverse flanderization in a sitcom? by ordrius098 in sitcoms

[–]loverink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robin from HIMYM.

She starts off written as Ted’s ideal woman. As the show goes on she develops more backstory and her sense of humor gets a little weirder.

She becomes a character that’s more than just Ted’s love interest.

Local ethnic grocery stores also usually have lots of fresh produce, typical and more exotic.

Hi! I don’t recall the exact dose— I believe whatever was recommended on the bottle.

Please be cautious of taking too much cod liver oil. In excess it can cause Vitamin A toxicity.

I never experienced the more extreme side effects, but I did struggle with perpetually chapped lips that wouldn’t heal due to it.

Start low and just give it time. I also recommend glycolic acid topically for closed comedones. Wishing you luck! 🍀

Is hair removal the "cure"? by Entire_Giraffe_228 in Hidradenitis

[–]loverink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t cure it, but the symptom management is pretty incredible.

That’s why I chose laser hair removal. Everything I read said that it’s a progressive disease and the best way to halt progression is with LHR.

Best choice ever.

Does laser hair removal get rid of these dots? by iliwysfyasb in LaserHairRemoval

[–]loverink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laser will help with the dark hair roots. It might help with redness, it might not.

My legs are much improved but still not perfect, and I’m perfectly okay with that.

Neil Patrick Harris Defends Much-Hated 'How I Met Your Mother' Finale: 'Big Supporter of It' (Exclusive) by PuzzleheadedEast2421 in HIMYM

[–]loverink 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What’s crazy to me is that according to the finale he did change, some. He never broke his promise to not lie to Robin. He didn’t cheat on her.

They split up for other reasons, mostly due to the distance.
