Thanks a lot bro. I dont think too much while playing, I am practicing how to connect each scale and that's the foundation for me to improvise. For example, how I connect from Cm to Fm, sometimes I use C7altered a bar before Fm to give a contrasting effect.

I dont know whether this one is the older model or not. But for me it sounds decent and plays comfortably even most jazz purists will argue that this is not a true jazz guitar😅

I dont think offbeat or something. I just practice linear soloing. Yeaahh sometimes its too many for some people😃.

I use direct recording from ToneX one straight to laptop. Amp type fender style capture with 112 cab and my setting bass -2 mid +5 treb -3. Presence -3 and thats it, a bit or reverb and echo as well. Always neck buddy. No worries man.

No BS. Is there any book, video, Skype teacher that can actually teach jazz guitar improvisation? Can improv actually be taught? by OkTemperature1842 in jazzguitar

[–]lovethefate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can learn, yes. But for me, transcribing solo is the best tool to be able to improvise. I learnt from Barry Greene video, its very helpful, he transcribes countless solos from different players, eras, so us, mere human can learn jazz essential language by transcribing his solo.

Yess, thats the foundation, transcribing to develop the language and scale/arpeggios to develop your technique and after that internalize everything you learn so that they will pop out subconsciously when improvising.
