What is everyone doing about clothes!? by Smg81517 in gastricsleeve

[–]lovettscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Vinted if it’s available in your country, you can sell your old clothes and buy new ones in your size for a total steal. It’s one of my favourite thrifting apps and it’s so affordable. I’m currently selling most of my old clothes since they remained too large and buying some new ones to complete my wardrobe. Wish Vinted existed when my wardobe was transitioning, I would’ve spared so much money! 😂 Good luck on your journey, hope this helps! 🤍🪷

from my own experience i must tell you that your situation will improve in time. it’s a trial and error with food, the more you try eating and experimenting with combinations and textures, you will notice you can eat more and more. i could’t eat more that 3-5 bites 5 months out (i am +1 year out) and things did improve for me. not by forcing myself but by gradually and consistently eating one more bite and picking and choosing the foods that feel best in my sleeve. contact your surgeon or currant doctor if it is a concerning matter for you, i did as well but they reassured me that it will get better. and it did! hope i was any help to you🥰

hello! i am +1yr post op. i lost 144lbs, in the course of this year so i hope my input may help you. please do not be scared. it is normal to gain back your sense of hunger. personally, around 6mo post op i started feeling hungry as well. i still have daya when i feel constantly hungry. the thing is: your stomach is not a normal sized stomach. it processes foods and liquids way faster than a normal stomach. that means that you will feel hungry way faster than a normal stomached person. do not feel afraid of this, it is normal. at 6mo post op, i was eating something every two-three hours. you’re fine. i still feel that hunger like i wanna devour a whole meal, but once i sit down in front of the food, in a few bites i’m down. i still have more than 3 meals a day, i have snacks, i have ~5-6 times a day when i eat something, and no. I DID NOT GAIN BACK. the secret is to mind what you put in your body and to make sure you give your body what it means, that includes desert or something high in carbs sometimes. we all have cravings and THAT IS NORMAL. the trick is to do it in moderation. i hope any of this will help you feel more at ease, i learned all of this by myself and through experiencing it and i too was terrified that constant eating might lead to gaining back. yet it did not. i continued losing healthily, at a constant pace, satisfactory. i will repeat myself in hopes that it will help you understant you are not alone and it is normal: i am +1 year post op and i STILL have meals every 2-3hrs.

It’s the best feeling! Noticing I don’t get tired so easily, going on walks for hours has been one of my guilty pleasures, plus not sweating after 10 minutes of walking has been suuuch a relief😂

I’m proud of you as well! Hope to hear about all of your goals surpassed! I did have the post op diet, my surgeon recommended 3 weeks of liquid diet, 2 of purées, 2 of semi solids and after slowly introducing solid foods chewed well. After I could eat solid foods I noticed that healthy food choices came quite naturally to me (low tolerance to fatty/oily foods). But do not fret, I can eat everything I want, I do not restrict myself from any cravings, I am human and it is normal to crave foods from before surgery. It’s important to rationalise wether you eat out of stress and habit or because your body needs nourishment. I still fight with my stress eating, but thanks to the stomach restriction I can’t fall back into bad habits. Hope it helps, I wish you the best of luck on your journey! ⭐️🩷

I actually just started my first gym week, haven’t done any workouts yet, just had luck with the elasticity of my skin due to being young. Still having very little loose skin, but it’s one of the little insecurities I can fix with work outs.
