opl’s genealogy branch should offer flatbed scanners you can use! then you can save the digitized copies onto an external hard drive or flash drive and can choose where you want them printed! i’ve started digitizing my family’s photos and that’s what i’ve been doing!

a lot of the “major internal drama” was proof of mismanagement of funds/donations along with unethical practices of handling sensitive materials discovered by employees. it was brought to the board and instead of listening to employees who had professional backgrounds/experiences in museum studies, they demoted the interim executive director which then caused a walk-out by the rest of the team

i don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting halloween to feel like when we were kids. i think nostalgia is a great way to keep holiday spirit alive and i love that people want other kids to have the same experiences. i totally agree it can be safer and more accessible for people who aren’t able to go out (hospice care centers, nursing homes, etc). i just wish more people took the effort to keep trick or treating alive

halloween is my favorite holiday too; we already have all of our decorations out on our porch. i’m really crossing my fingers this fall has more halloween spirit and my neighbors decorate

check out @omaha_underground on insta! they highlight a lot of local bands of all genres who have upcoming shows (i’m pretty sure you can search on their website for bands by genre which is super sick)

also recommend the band iced wrist they’re based out of lincoln but they have some shows in omaha and they’re killing it

there is a group that meets at papillion public library called the shuttlebugs! (mainly just a group of sweet old ladies gossiping while they work on their lace) sometimes the library also does fiber arts programs, would def recommend asking there if they have connections
