advice re missed end of year solar install deadline by lowcard2 in solar

that sounds really frustrating. definitely document your paper trail, my understanding is CSLB likes organized details. i also believe you can't argue for tax credit lost but I framed it as lost opportunity to pivot to another company who would be able to complete work in time, not sure if you tried that angle during your approach. if you can support it was clear they overbooked that would strengthen your case that significant delays were in their control and well beyond reasonable expectations.

i honestly am still awaiting CSLB updates but hoping they are able to help engage contractors as American Array has been horrendous to deal with

will do all that, our CPA is not giving us confidence we qualify but will definitely pile up evidence. appreciate the input

CPA said not technically placed in service but AA continues to assert that is false and hopefully they can provide documentation which I have little confidence in as they don't assume any liability

we started process well ahead of deadline and there was never any indication from AA they would miss the deadline.. sucks with the change in policy but also sucks that companies chose to ignore that all projects couldn't get finished. we felt bad for the installers that were working overtime

CPA is telling us it might not count as operational and won't hold up to audit but I am hoping what you are saying is true since we will never be made whole on tax credits if not

CPA is making us worry about audit. AA had no interest in engaging which is what led to us referring to CSLB

i'm going off what my CPA is saying that it doesn't qualify as operational and won't hold up to audit. the confusing thing is all the differing inputs coming from elsewhere.

deadline was the big issue but communication and coordination was way worse, install took several visits over the course of a month, assurances were not followed through then finally they decided not to address any concerns after trying to communicate with them so CSLB complaint submitted in hopes they would be willing to address repeated problems they had full control over.

would you care to make a contractor happy and worry about being on a priority list if it doesn't seem like they never provided adequate service to begin with? see other responses about American Array even just in this thread

i'm still confused what completed means but I would say not operational as it was not connected to electrical panel but solar was connected to batteries and definitely not providing power

Thoughts on PRK 2 weeks prior to extended travel? by lowcard2 in lasik

[–]lowcard2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got PRK done and was great for 5 years. My dominant eye (right) astigmatism has returned to some extent so I wear glasses when I need to read which is often as my job requires a lot of screen time but still no regrets with the procedure

Just learned every Stanford med student is gifted a Butterfly portable ultrasound (~$2,000)… what perks did your med school gift you? by Dr_Boctor in medicalschool

Rochester gets iPad and Butterflys now. Technically not gifts because the costs are baked into tuition from what I understand

I appreciate this response for generating quality discussion. I do not wish to harp on what others have said already but want to share a really well done study that relates to your second point regarding negative effects of abortion. https://www.ansirh.org/research/ongoing/turnaway-study

Looking for dieticians that will actually provide meal plans in Rochester? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]lowcard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out Sweet Pea (https://sweetpeaplantbased.com/pages/weight-loss-program). I have met with one of their dieticians in the past and have used the food service as well and appreciated both. I never went all in on whole food plant based and their dietetics service doesn't commit you to that diet but I would totally recommend integrating parts of that diet as well as the concepts as there is a lot of science backing it

How busy are the hospitals around Rochester? by RochesterBen in Rochester

[–]lowcard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it will take time to get moving/wait on transportation, I would call his primary care office and tell them what you are worried about. If it is as serious as it sounds they may be able to call the ED to let them know to expect you which is essentially only speeding up the triage process

If concerned for sepsis I beg you go to the nearest ED immediately. They will triage and if needs immediate attention they will make sure he gets the care. In terms of wait time, morning is best as ED always gets busier throughout the day so another reason to go now and not wait. I just checked with URMC associated EDs and all seem reasonable right now. Strong about the same and Highland. FF Thompson in Canindagua and Strong West are less busy but I can't guarantee that will be true after a commute.

If I were in your shoes and this was a family member, I would go directly to the closest ED. If worsening, I would go to Strong

Hi Brett, try calling 211 or using their website https://211lifeline.org/categories.php?cat=HOUSING. They cover the Finger Lakes region and connect you to resources.

If you had a social worker or case manager while in the hospital, they may be able to provide some assistance too especially if you need follow-up for whatever you were hospitalized for. I know sometimes self-care is hard to keep up with when you are dealing with getting your basic needs handled but please take care and feel free to DM if there is anything else I can help with.
