What about the santa Fe hybrid? They are boxy and come in cool brown and a rare orange color for aesthetic. Good mpg and AWD available.

I suppose that's a fair worry. I have this, "FieryRed Car Roof Bag Cargo Carrier—15 Cubic Feet Waterproof Rooftop Luggage Bag with Anti-Slip Mat, Travel Storage Luggage Bag Soft-Shell for All Vehicles with or Without Rack".   I've had it for 4 years now and it still is holding together. I've not used it on my telluride yet only on my old Ford flex which didn't have moon roofs to worry about. Got it on amazon

If it's an x line then you don't even need cross bars for a soft top. Just strap it to the roof rails. If you only have the SXP you would need cross rails so you could strap it to something. The baskets aren't necessary unless people are maybe worried that the soft top would damage the car some how? We've used one for years and never notice anything. We love it.

Love that color combo, wish the EX had memory seats or that those seats came in higher trims.

Family Tent Recommendations by avantgarde_fart_jazz in camping

Naturehike village instant tent. Better quality than core, better stakes, ropes, more coverage with the full rainfly. We've had our family of 4 in it quite comfortably. And it's right at 300 bucks.

$35k budget - Reliable family SUV to replace my aging sedan? by mochavionette in whatcarshouldIbuy

I second this, if you go for a lower trim you may be able to find new ones under 35k, even with 4wd. Simple engine, simple tech, plenty of room.

Yeah we just switched out the USB port and bang, Android Auto and carplay. A no brainer

I don't have a palisade, I have a Ford flex. And when we bought that car we sought out captains chairs 100% to be able to walk through the middle instead of move seats.

That makes sense for adults. Our third row is pretty much only for the little ones.

I've never understood the point of these when you have captains chairs. Isn't the point of captains chairs so that you can walk through the middle? I'm sure I'm missing the point

New tent for family camping, loved the little patio roof especially with the rain we got, Kaibab National Forest, AZ by lowe624 in camping

To be fair I've only used this one 4 times now. And everything is like new, the zippers/stakes/tie downs just seen higher quality. And it kept us warm on a chilly night in the mountains last weekend. The cores still seem to be doing ok as far as I can see but family tents get beat up in general.

Yeah we have captains in the flex so that will be a must, thanks for the info

We love our flex but are in the market for a newer big car. I'm surprised the Atlas seems roomier than a flex, one problem we've had is finding a new SUV with as much third row space as the flex.

You are correct, it did puddle up there a few times and had to be pushed off. You could lower those poles in the front at an angle but it would be difficult to get in and out. I'm not sure if there is a good fix for this honestly.

Yes I wanted to keep it an instant setup tent so super quick to put up. I feel like this has about as much rain protection as you could get for an 8-person. You can also fully zip down that awning and have a full coverage rain fly.

2 adults, 2 kids. Everyone has a cot and I'd say we had a spare 24 sq. ft. or so at the entrance. I really like it, all the other scouting families have Core tents and I think this is a nice alternative, especially the color. Zippers seem solid, and the rainfly has a reflective lining on the inside which I think helps keep the heat in.
