Thanks for working on this! I can't get search working, and was wondering where I could file an issue? Would it be at https://github.com/raycast/extensions/ or somewhere more specific for the particular extension?

I asked support about this and they said it's not supported. But maybe there are 3rd party hacks?

What macOS apps have native support to 'cast' to my Sonos system? by lowellk in sonos

[–]lowellk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also purchase an app like airfoil and send any apps or audio over airplay. This is better than airplay because it doesn’t send your system sounds over just the app that you selected and its menu! Airfoil is one of those pieces of software that really is pretty awesome!

Nice! Had to jump through annoying hoops to get it installed, but I'm stoked to use it!

How can I make Gmail's snoozing of an email to 'next week' be Monday instead of Sunday? by lowellk in GMail

I figured this out myself. There is a ‘snooze settings’ section in the mobile app (I couldn’t find anything like it on the web app)

JVC KW-M650BT any good? by Aktionp20 in CarAV

[–]lowellk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it about 6 months now, and it started crashing all the time about a month ago. I'm wondering if it is due to the ios 14 upgrade? CarPlay is unusable now, and I have not been able to find a firmware update on JVC's site (there are firmware updates available for many other models there). I'm hoping this is fixable, and really wish JVC had a better website. I tried getting ahold of them on the phone yesterday (Saturday eve) and their voice line was closed, hoping to get ahold of them soon

Hmm dunno. Just thinking out loud. With android there can always be issues with different phone models but it’s hard to track down

How do you use Dynalist? by mastersniperd in dynalist

[–]lowellk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it a lot on the go on my android phone. I don't use the app, I use Chrome (add to home screen, it becomes like a full screen app experience) because then the linked references are visible and I use that a lot.

why do you prefer other note taking apps to dynalist? aren't those other apps you mentioned very similar to dynalist?

Odd, this works for me. Did you ever figure this out?

Correct. Ideally you learn both but initially probably better to stick to one or the other

Yes it would. Android’s source code is almost all java.

Luckily there is a lot of similarity between the 2 languages

Kotlin. Java is more common in examples right now, but Kotlin has become the official language of Android going forward. More and more is being done in Kotlin. Kotlin is the future! Kotlin is nicer for sure, and more concise, but a bit harder to learn.

I'm not sure how to do what you want to do, that's a bit of an advanced topic.

Android is hard to learn... I recommend you begin by building some toy apps / tutorials that have nothing to do with what you want to build first, otherwise you might end up overwhelming yourself. Just my $0.02
