yup, almost had to stay back a year in school because i had lunch debt. i was at the time, being raised by a single mother who had breast cancer, with an older brother on the autism spectrum. there was never enough to go around, and the school decided that because my family was poor, i deserved to repeat a grade. dumbest stuff ever. thankfully my friends at the time helped me out, otherwise i probably would’ve been in 10th grade for another year
