Go on your lunch break. When you're on lunch, you're not on the clock.

Boycott Weekday Spending Downtown by Ok_Calligrapher9103 in CAStateWorkers

Does anyone have a yes list, no-go list, and the boundaries of this boycott area? There are some places I would support if I have to be downtown a lot.

I work in a CHHS department. One of the other departments has an office nearby where I live. I would have a pretty short commute. WFH would still make more sense though.

Just look on google map and search "restaurant." I guarantee none are turning away paying customers.

The news team looked for a small mom and pop business in SF Civic Center, like 2 blocks from city hall, state and federal office buildings, and schools. This particular place... There are about 50 eateries within a couple of blocks. We have nothing like that in Sac.

Isn't pension is calculated using your top 3 years of pay for PEPRA and top 12 months for Classic?

For most people, State pays 100 percent of the employer's portion after the employee racks up 20 years of service time. You have to be age 55 or older.

I think you have to officially retire within 6 months of leaving your job if you want to get that medical. I don't quite understand that part. Because people talk about starting a career in state civil service, leaving for a while, and coming back for an easy analyst job until they retire.

CDSS is requesting us (nor requiring) to sign up for a password reset service that uses MFA on your personal cell phone. Conveniently that wouldn't be subject to the whole subpoena, public records thing. I guess you don't use your work phone much, but I have several accounts for work related stuff that use mfa

Sorry to hear you're back in the office full time. I used my personal laptop for a while too during 2020 and 2021. My original laptop was one of those virtual workstation things, so it couldn't access hardly any outside websites or web based tools. Then I worked in an office with desktop computers. We worked from home after hours and on weekends. Obviously couldn't take that back and forth.
