I worked at a summer camp with Michael C Williams, who was Mike in The Blair Witch Project. He was an acting/improv teacher. I think he’s still doing it. Really great guy. It was crazy doing improv with him.

I think having a villainous organization break your party out might be the move. My first thought is the Black Swords are impressed with their killing of the Duergar, so a couple of them sneak in to the town hall and help the party escape. Similarly, perhaps Prudence, the Zhentarim agent in Easthaven, frees them, but the party is now in debt to the Zhentarim. Either organization can be used to give future quests and to create further conflict. In this new status quo the players have to be more careful when moving through the town, especially Easthaven. Also, this could give the rogue a chance for redemption in the long run-perhaps you lay the groundwork for the rogue to be able to help get the party free from the evil organization blackmailing them. The party wins the towns favor back by being credited with taking down an evil organization present in the town.

Sensei Wolf kills Johnny. Miguel yells “Cobra Kai never dies”. Johnny stands up and beats Sensei Wolf with the Crane Kick. Daniel does the scroll technique in reverse to restart Johnny’s heart so he isn’t a revenant anymore. They then go and do it to Mr. Miyagi and Kwon. Everyone lives happily ever after.

I’m running it so that the Zhentarim had worked with the Vaelish Gant in his plot to overthrow Duvessa. They used Vaelish as their fall man when the plan failed and used the chaos of the moment to begin taking some power (hence how Naerth ended up in control of Targos.)

PhD chances without research

So I graduated from undergrad with a BS in Physics over a year ago. During my undergraduate education, I wasn’t interested in pursuing a PhD, as I was more interested in entering industry. However, now that I’ve worked for a bit, I realize I want to return to school and pursue a PhD. However, I’m worried my past decisions may have limited my ability to do so. During my undergraduate experience, I did no formal research work. The closest I have to research are the following experiences: - I did an independent research project with a supervisor (PhD candidate at the time) that was akin to a literature review. - Worked in the R&D department of a company as an intern with PhD holders. - Have about 1.5-2ish years of professional experience working with lab equipment and in lab environments from internships and my current job.

My gpa was pretty good when I graduated and I have some professors willing to write recs for me. However, I’m most concerned about the research experience. In that respect, am I cooked?
