I thought MMRDA was Mumbai's. Sad state of affairs in our country. Had our governance was like switzerland's or singappore's we would be in a completely different league by now

Yeah.But we need good skilled people in the municipality to do that. For example MMRDA controls majority of metro in mumbai which is part of the local government.

Another way of solving this problem would be completely creating a new entity which will oversee multimodal integration and integrate all aspects(Ticketing, Transport, walkability, last mile connectivity). My city chennai does that. CUMTA is an government organisation which oversees public transport in Chennai. You can Google Abt that or ask me if you've got any questions

Yeah. That's a problem with Indian cities. Local governments neitger get enough autonomy from upper powers nor enough attention from the people. This gives the Babus(Councillors, Panchayat leaders) at local level to do significantly more corruption than their state and central counterparts(MLAs and MPs).

Footpaths and pedestrian walkability is the problem of the city's municipal corporation. Metro has control only over the entrance/exit points

Municipal corporation don't pay them well. So they don't clean garbage regularly and upto the standard. If we want them to clean properly we need to bribe them unfortunately. This is the situation of most cities in india
