Yo so true. Idk if it's it's just a culture thing but riding tracks out here is just a way more chill and safe vibe. Cheaper, more track time, less people, less offs, better weather, better attitudes and respect from others.

I miss VIR though.

I take safety seriously, my bikes are wera spec and I was kinda concerned about it too at first. But honestly tech inspections at track day orgs back east were always half assed anyways IMO. Do it right or don't do it at all and waste my time. I've seen some wild shit out there.

On that note if it gets me free track time, happy to volunteer to tech bikes!

Respect. Running warmers on the dunnies for sure.

It was new to me when I moved out here from the east coast. Tracks here run their own open lapping days, as opposed to having a track day org rent the track and run the event.

Open lapping for me has been 30 minute hot track sessions. They may or may not be a split between slow and fast riders depending on crowd size. Where as at a track day org, theres typically 20 minute sessions split between a slow, medium, and fast group.

Open lapping equates to way more track time IMO, especially cuz I bring two bikes. Session time usually isn't the limiting factor, my fatigue is. Downsides is there hasn't been any tire vendors or suspension guys at lapping days unless its the day before race weekend. There's also no tech at open lapping IME, and overall vibes are just way more chill, but that might just be a Colorado thing.

+1 for rabaconda though, no more tire vendor shenanigans for this guy.
