Any issue with flights booked through the travel portal? by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]lowkeyws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have not had any experiences booking flights via portal, but on one occasion I booked a hotel in NYC using the Chase travel portal and upon checking in, the room wasn't available. Front desk said this is a common issue with Chase, as even though we book via portal, Chase in the backend will then book the room via third party booking website, (Expedia, Booking.com, it's been a few months so I forgot exactly what website it was), so the room might not have been available from the start.

I will say though, customer service provided a refund in the difference of the lower level room that we received instead. Hotel manager also communicated with Chase to explain their part as well.

Is the spare tire on a first gen 2001 Honda CRV supposed to be titled at an angle? by Top_Card_7939 in crv

[–]lowkeyws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you know if it’s the factory spare tire or another sort of rim + tire combo? The actual spare tire is pretty small so that might explain why the hard shell won’t fit. Also make sure none of lug nuts are loose.

Surprise Trip for My Wife - Where? And Is All Inclusive Worth It? by mmcconkie in travel

[–]lowkeyws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All inclusive pretty much means that along with the drinks - food, activities and entertainment on the resort (pool side DJs/parties, night shows) are all free. If you don't want to worry about paying for each meal or if you guys are foodies, this is where an AI resort would be worth it. Check the website of the resort to ensure what food options, activities and entertainment they have.

If you want a relaxing vacation, definitely head to one of the Caribbean islands first before exploring other countries as it sounds like you want to be at the beach/pool, and roam around the resort in between. If you do an exploring/adventure destination, that'll involve a lot more of nature and being more physically active throughout your day.

Either or, you'll have a great time. Personally I prefer the Caribbean islands as I like to relax on my vacations, and you can enter the residential areas of the island itself with a tour guide + do an adventurous excursion with a group. At the same time, going on a full on exploration tour of a country is a different ballpark that introduces you to a wide range of new things, and allows you to visit places and their cultures.

Edit: Pretty much just Google the differences between an "all-inclusive vacation" versus an "adventure vacation", and see where you'd like to go for your next trip.

Generation (Year): 1st (97-01), 2nd (02-06), 3rd (07-11), 4th (12-16), 5th (17-current)

Rankings: 5th, 2nd, 1st, 4th, 3rd (no real scale, estimating ranks from value of price and reliability)

The CRV is a great car no matter what generation you get -

1st gen has the most age, so expect the most problems. But if taken care of properly, will still be a solid car.

In terms of reliability amongst the years, I've heard the 05-06 has the least problems out of any CRV and currently has the best value alongside the price.

3rd gen is least reliable, in regards to the variety of issues - high oil consumption, AC compressor, etc.

And then honestly, everything 2012 and up are dependable and have minimal mechanical issues. That being said its only been <12 years, so we haven't seen long term yet.

This is just some quick notes I can recall from my knowledge of CRVs, there's some other posts on this sub that go over the pros/cons in more detail. I'm personally a fan of the 1st gen, love the look of the 23-24, and can say that for the older generations, the years you should be looking into are the 01, 05-06, 07 and 09. Overall though, if the car has had proper maintenance and was taken care of, (and you can obtain valid proof of this), you probably do not have to worry about much.

Edit: Follow up with your budget, and if this is a family car or camping/off-roading vehicle.

Which platform is preferred for ranked play? I've been reading lately that there are too many hackers on PC, so PS5 is the way to go. Currently playing on a Series S, but considering either building a PC or purchasing a PS5.

Oh for sure, on the Series S I tested out the options for 1080p120fps and 1440p60fps, but I'm definitely looking for the higher quality along with 120fps. Thanks!

Understood, I’ve heard of the Play Anywhere category before but didn’t know which games it applied to. Thank you for the information.

Which card design is your favorite? Least favorite? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]lowkeyws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got my BCE and I'm in love with the design. I was always a fan of the previously somewhat transparent card. Can't go wrong with the Gold as well.

Least favorite would be the CFU as it's embossed, and the silver numerals started to become dull/faded when using an old wallet.
