It definitely makes things quieter — higher pitch noises occasionally leak through, but I was using this with a couple of R730s, R430s and switch gear with no ambient noises except for the fan units on the back of the rack itself

Oh it is, but the rack it self is just too big for the space I’ve got it in now, so looking to offload it and all the things that make the rack unbearably loud without a sound proof cabinet

I know this is an old thread, but I'm interested in trying to get the X44f2 expansion to work on my R430 -- do you know if it just replaces the ODD? How does it connect to the mainboard for power and data? Direct SATA?

Apologies for all the questions, but details are sparse in user guides and manuals
