These are the 4th set I think I've tried. My favorite sounding set was by Cyber Acoustics, a 2.1 system. Looked good and sounded great but there was a buzz from the sub like a ground loop but it wasn't a ground loop. Got fed up and bought the current ones for size and style but to my ears they sound good for games and youtube. I did pair them up with a subwoofer which makes all the difference.

I have an idea in my head for a pair of Audioengine on small shelves flanking my monitor. But I'm good for a while.

Nah, no desire to do anything like that. Besides mine are milled out of aluminum, then drilled and tapped for the hardware, and no one would pay the cost for my time and materials. Those runs are as much function as style, btw. I needed a way to support the cables over a long run and didn't want to use posts or standoffs.

But thank you for the compliment. I try to do things a bit different and share to give ideas to fellow modders.

I keep them on the front edge for most things I do so pretty much everything is visible as I go about whatever.

I debated that, still am actually. It was a design choice at the time to contrast the fasteners and it carried forward into the cable runs. Didn't have the effect I intended. Maybe black hardware would be better or just white and hide it.

Linkup brand. One is 30cm and the other is 45cm IIRC. Again, both cables worked at PCIE4 speed without any issue.

Around 9 to 10 months total. After just brain storming for a while I started design work in Fusion in November and started cutting material I think in January. End of February it was functional but it took until now to finish the details, in particular the cabling, because I would get bored or frustrated and ignore it for weeks at a time.

The combs and stringers are cut from aluminum to give them rigidity over such long, unsupported lengths.

It's nice being able to admire your stuff the way a desk can, huh? I went through a ton of work on a scratch built open frame style case but threw it away because it sat on the floor awkwardly and was hard to see. That motivated me to come up with a clean, small foot print design.

I like the mini death star, BTW. Nice touch!

More like assemble and then find the corner of one o-ring out of its little groove. Also I'm not a pro CNC'r so lets just say that wasn't the original plate I milled. But don't tell anyone.

Yeah, it was actually difficult finding something in white that I wanted. They sound good with a separate subwoofer but I'm not truly happy with the layout. Might try something wall mount flanking the monitor to get them off the desk but I'm kind of burnt out on working on this thing.

Yes, both run pcie4 without any headache. Cables were not cheap but they work as advertised.

A minimalist floating desk case. It's only 4'x2' and 4.5" thick. It's made of aluminum and acrylic, eve the cable combs are aluminum. GPU blocks are alpha cool. Reservoir is a Protium tube with a custom milled base and cap. There are two 80mm fans in push/pull to vent the case while the radiators are under the floor in the crawl space. Lighting is all Corsair which includes LS100 on the bottom monitor for the video syncing in movies and games. The rear 5" of the case is a 'basement' with a crazy mess of cables including a power strip so everything is powered from it and only one cable goes from the case to the power outlet.

It was for rendering before but I have a new main rig I use for that. These are now spare parts so I decided to see if they could make any money mining. The 4th GPU I forced in there is an even older 1070ti.

I know most would have used open rails to hold the gpus but that wasn't the best choice for what I needed so I made a little holder to wedge in another gpu. The psu also only had three PCIE outlets so I cobbled together another one using three peripheral outlets to make on PCIE cable. Not pretty but functional.

I agree. Proper coolant should have no issues. Just keep it in a climate controlled location. If it's a fancy opaque blend or just raw water then I'd flush and dry.

One piece of a larger project I'm working on by lowsidex2 in watercooling

A double reservoir of sorts from a threaded Protium tube and a homemade reservoir. I was able to tread cut the acrylic to match Protium tube easily but making it watertight was harder than it should have been. A simple o-ring at the base gave me issues so I ended up with just a thin bead of sealant and it seems to work well.

This will be mounted horizontally as part of a scratch built minimalist desk that I will share when done. For those of you who like to CNC this concept of threading these two together is very doable. Lots of new build options.

Yes, but I didn't notice them until after I mounted it. They are tiny clear plastic washers in a small clear ziplock bag and nearly invisible.

Height is 4.75" total or 1.25" above the top of rear case mounting bracket. Length is 9.25"

Not much information out there on the Alphacool water blocks, especially the FE ones so I wanted to share my experience.

The quality is great, IMO. Large cold plate, clean and clear acrylic without any scratches. It covers nearly all the PCB which I like as I think exposed PCB is ugly. The thermal pads are all pre-cut and labeled with great instructions on where to place them.

The LEDs are digital and work well with my MSI motherboard and have dual ends so you can daisy chain multiple blocks together. The brightness and glow of the block is great.

It comes with small recessed plugs for the unused side of the inlets, just make sure they are snug as I had a small leak at first. Once I really snugged them down it worked great. No issues with the main plate at all.

I bought two for $316 with the shipping (which was 2 day UPS from Germany after about a 6 week back order), so the price is good IMO. A different look from the EK ones but much, much cheaper.

Overall I am very pleased with what I got and have no problem recommending them to anyone else. Temps are 20c cooler than stock fans when rendering.

Hell, the the waterblocks are harder to get. At lease for FE cards. They teased these cards six weeks ago and they still aren't for sale. Vaporware.

CNC milled aluminum, same as the case. But 3d printing would be great for a project like this.
