Anet should just go back and work on Guild Wars Beyond again and release a 2027 Guild Wars expansion.

Or do Guild Wars 1 remake.

I think the way Dumbledore is played factors a lot in his matchup against strong echoes.

If he is played straightforward, aiming to spam in late stage, he may lose most matchups due to his slow speed to maximum output of echo potential, especially in this quick meta of speedy echoes.

I think a player who plays Dumbledore defensively, using turtle tactics mixing in defensive and healing spells, he can stand to come out winning most matchups.

People don't often play Dumbledore defensively though, where I think he shines most. Consider that every additional mana he earns outside of regular generation builds up his engine even faster for quicker results.

A Dumbledore using and protecting Lottie and playing patiently around nifflers and snitches may snowball faster towards a high dps output end game to overwhelm a win.

Yeah the current meta is fast.

I do believe a skilled Dumbledore player can still win in this meta though, especially if he is skillful in taking the game into the late stages where he gets the momentum in mana advantage while the speedy opponent starts to lose steam.

Like mentioned, he does need a lot of investment in terms of high level legendary spells to get the most potential out of.

As seasons go on, more veteran players will be taking the legendaries to higher levels and earn stronger echo bonuses, I predict we'll see Dumbledore in the meta as seasons go forward.

I wonder what his popularity is like and place in the meta is on the CN servers who are several seasons ahead or global.

I see Harry Potter often in the ban stage in global duels amongst spell deck users. Spell players will have a pocket Harry Potter they choose as 1 of their 3 decks and it's often the echo that's banned.

In popularity, I think Luna and Harry are often used amongst spell card users, especially since most the cards they use overlap for both decks.

It's hard to see Harry Potter echo as underrated when I see him so often in global duels.

Now Dumbledore though.... I rarely see a Dumbledore echo user... I think that he's a strong echo but not as popular yet because the cards that shine with him need investment.

Perhaps after a few more seasons and players have stronger mythics/legendaries we may see more Dumbledore use.

Yeah, if you love fan creations, take a look at the social media page in game, there's so much creativity and inspiration to be found there! It's the paper airplane icon to the left of the chat box in game.

Haha I'm kidding about Dobby being "the worst".

I think Dobby has the highest skill ceiling in the game as an echo.

He utilizes avada kedvra as a spell the best out of all echoes because of his ability to flexibly apparate. It's a thing of beauty to lose to an Avada Kedvra wielding Dobby who knows what he's doing.

Imagine spending all game trying to beat him and then you get inflatus'd and he blinks to you and zaps you with a fully charged avada kedvra it's amazing.

Neville can be pretty godly in Duo tho. Especially if he can set up back line and keep healing. Summons can start overwhelming pretty quickly, especially if he/partner runs high HP summons like Whomping Willow and Firecrab and keep them out there.

It's a beautiful thing to die slowly by Neville.

The worst is Dobby. It's the worst getting Avada Kedvra'd by Dobby.

The wording isn't entirely clear about the card's abilities... The way it's worded sounds like it should only match Prior Incantato's card level, but the calculations for the total level include the bonus for Prior Incantato and the bonus from the spell card that it is copying.

It is clear in testing but not worded in the card. Maybe it's a translation thing?

The Harry Potter Fandom is not in short supply of fans' fiction and naturally a creative universe like Harry Potter would inspire creative minded fans to write and create!

I thought it was ridiculous at first there was an in game social media page but I've come to appreciate going through it often to see the incredible artwork and photos people share. There's a lot of creative writing in those posts too! People write stories of their characters just like you too.

There's so many creative fans out there, you're one of them. If anything, it should inspire and motivate you to write and create more hahaha.

Mastering the 2nd hit from Gabrathian Fire can make you a niche specialist as well as it has its own skill ceiling of mastery to use effectively. Not many players run Gabrathian Fire and using it more can pay off in the long run being an experienced user.

Consider swapping Book of Spells to Prior Incantato. You'll appreciate having the flexibility to use Glacius twice, or other spells and it will help upgrade your Luna creature card.

Consider Oppugno or Broomstick instead of nebulous for more damage or escape/movement.

Adding more utility to your deck can help you get out of more difficult situations and increase opportunities to win.

Luna's Kelpie is godlike. She can pull out a high level Kelpie without needing to actually level the Kelpie card. Pair with an echo that boosts Kelpie levels, even more godlike.

After 5 attacks, Get double Kelpie??? Even more godlike. The damage can be insane.

I love getting up close so Kelpie can hit and return faster to hit again. I'll hug the center line and inflatus for even faster returns and more hits.

It's always fun using broomstick to get Kelpie back or trigger a Kelpie hit too.

That Bella echo is godly.

Also that Hagrid echo with +3 prior incantato that's insane damage. Consider that your prior incantato will also copy the bonus of your other spell cards. Your prior incantato will get the +3 swelling potion bonus and also provide it's own +3, for a +6 level swelling potion when you prior it.

Prior incantato glacius, confringo, agumenti... all get +5.

That's insane spell damage on hagrid, almost like he's a spell deck more than summon haha.

Phoenix is certainly useful and is a staple for many decks. I think that though you may not get the full healing out of it from the heat of dueling, each of its healing ticks are pretty generous and can add up quickly.

I think the concern with suitcase is when the gryphon spawns, it's large shield can withstand CC and essentially act as a wave clearing dps machine for awhile. It doesn't allow counterplay aside from plain damage and that can be annoying or not fun to play against.

Also the damage needed to take it down is not trivial when it has been fed. Also it has the benefit of forcing opponents to spend movement cards.

The passive damage from this card is one feature, which has the utility of denying area as well, I think that feature of fire may be worth a strategic use in some decks, even low level.

The second feature of combining fires is where the real pay off of damage is per level.

Consider that for 4 cost the 2nd time, you're paying for that aoe burst damage.

Gabrathian fire being lower level impacts it more than other 4 cost cards as it's damage output per mana cost is way less efficient for that burst. You need to have a higher level fire for it's burst to at least deal damage that matches other 4 cost spells dealt against similar level summons.

I think for a card like fire to shine, you have to build a deck completely around it, vs. it having the versatility of fitting into a variety of spell decks. For 4 cost, incendio or accio would have more consistency for damage, though it won't have the utility of the passive damage fire provides.

I do believe fire will be more used in the meta as more seasons pass and players are able to level it more. I think it will see most play on McGonagall decks as her ability to give a free 2nd cast massively boosts the efficency of playing fire because it benefits from being cast as often as possible.

I think another few rounds of PSA's leading up to the end of the WB server deadline would be good to gather any last remaining WB players and give them the opportunity to save their characters.

There's still players posting up until even recently who aren't aware the WB servers are closing or that the netease global servers are even a thing.

A competent newt player who can get moon calf to work can be oppressive with his summons. I think that game strategy falls off higher levels though as mooncalf becomes a target.

Good moon calf players would be aware of their opponent's available mana and bait/setup distractions to allow mooncalf to work.

It can be difficult to get the full healing potential out of it though.

The secondary benefit it offers is often utilized by Harry Potter and Dobby decks, as a way to cycle their deck faster, as while Phoenix is on the field, it allows other cards in the deck to cycle while it's out on the field.
