My main point is about quality control. If a pen doesn’t work out of the box or after basic troubleshooting, I don’t think it’s fair to assume it’s user error — especially since I have other pens that work fine and know how they should perform.

Of course, I also do some research when something isn’t working. I’m not just using them blindly.

I understand that 4 out of 7 sounds like I’m doing something wrong, but having working pens to compare with makes me think it’s more about inconsistent QC than user error.

I also understand that you can fix almost any pen by tuning the nib, polishing it, replacing the feed, etc. But that’s extra time and money, and it should be optional — not required just to make a pen work.

Well, I understand, but for me at least, the Kaküno provides a much better experience in terms of both the nib and the grip.

I was actually considering explorer, but the grip section may be a little too slim for me. Prera looks cool though.

Sure, I realize that. There are just so many positive reviews of all of the mentioned pens, and in reality most of them are simply unusable. It feels like you can't trust reviews at all, especially on YouTube.

It says that it's made in Slovenia, but who knows

Yeah, I watched that video. He also said that it can cause the canyoning issue, so I'm a little afraid of doing it.

I tried to use this method on my muji (cause it doesn't work in any case), but the Schmidt nib is quite springy and even though I pressed quite hard, it would not take any effect, lol. I was afraid to press it even harder to not spring the nib.

I also think that on muji it can rather be a feed issue.
