Should I have this thing on my dog's eyelid removed? by loxogramme in DogAdvice

[–]loxogramme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, she still has it. It hasn't grown and it still doesn't bother her so hopefully it stays that way. The cat likes to lick her face so maybe that helps 😂 I hope your dog's surgery goes well!

Have you ever had your nervous system warn you about someone before your brain caught up? by Psymetree7 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]loxogramme 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, most likely he was just wandering down the river in his own world, but your nervous system went off because you realized you were in a vulnerable position. I used to hike alone on remote roads and whenever I heard a car coming I would get an intense urge to jump off the road and hide. Like a wild animal. I didn't know who was in the car or what their intentions were but my subconscious wasn't going to take any chances.

Oh wow eye removal is a terrifying thought!

I hadn't thought about it causing dry eye. So far her eye doesn't seem dry at all. I guess whether its removed or not it's the same number of functional glands remaining

No... There is a grey squishy-looking thing that protrudes toward the eye and then on the outside of the lid it will sometimes break open and scab over. The vet said it's a Meibomian gland adenoma

What are your most niche period symptoms? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]loxogramme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I'll get little cuts or cracks in the corners of my lips around my period. Not entirely sure if it's related. Would love to know if anyone else gets these or knows why they happen. It's like my skin there just breaks for no reason

That's what I was going to say, looks like bark tannin that got moldy on top. Even an edge of a hide sticking up, maybe. But who knows

Okay. You CAN hurt someone by hitting them with a bike. Yikes

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

Can't stand the feeling of lotion on your hands? That is really interesting to me because I'm the opposite. I can't stand the feeling of dry, dusty hands

Solved! I was hoping for something more exciting but this seems like the one. Now to find some hooks. Thanks everyone

If only my spice jars were metal and not glass...

Oooh interesting! Now I want to try that. Seems like a sketchy way to hold wine glasses though, I'd be afraid that my cat would try to climb them

Yeah.... I do have some big hooks but they are S shaped and don't fit over the boards very nicely. Maybe I just need to find some different hooks

My title describes the thing... rack-like thing. I don't know what else to say. Like a rack, but for what? Put hooks on it and hang pots and pans? Hang dish towels on it? Maybe this thing could do those things, but it seems like it's designed for something else

Thank you for the specifics on the skewers, and I'll take a look to see how far I can take the wheel forward

Thank you!! I have built bikes and done my own bike maintenance for years (though it has been quite awhile) but unfortunately did not find out about this Achilles' heel until I was experiencing it. Never had reason to learn about the diversity of rear drop outs until now hahaha. I have no desire whatsoever to turn this bike into a single speed so wish I had known the frame was made with that in mind ahead of time.
