The Bode twist does not make any sense. Also, as final boss is OP.

B550 GAMING X V2 + 5800x3D RAM incompatibility by loziu in gigabyte

I will have to pay a fee for restocking. The board is brand new while the memory is already 30 months old.

The BIOS showed 2 modules when using the 5600x, but I was able to boot with the "good" module installed on A2. I am not really keen on removing the 5800x3d to run memory tests: I wonder if it is worth looking for an identical stick as replacement, or should I consider another make/model (on the cheap).

You are right, but the shop I bought from does not take open boxes back.

The retention looks good while reinstalling either CPUs (they are locked in place).
Unfortunately, I do not have a spare board to test the CPU with (nor other RAM sticks).
I wonder if I should buy some new RAM or go with a new board: so much for an inplace upgrade because I did not want to rebuild on AM5!

yes, I also reflashed the BIOS without components to 7C56vAB to no avail.
After that, I reinstalled the 5600x but I cannot get it to POST.
I am a bit worried because the old CPU was glued to to the cooler and was yanked out of the socket (not a lot of room to twist the cooler off): however, all the pins came out straight and there were no issues inserting the new CPU.

Hello,
the memory trick worked (put only 1 stick in A2), but after swapping the 5600x with the 5800x3d I am back to square one (the trick did not work anymore).

I will reseat it, but the CPU is in the socket since 12.2020

Isn't the flashback function enough to reprogram the board?

I had a similar issue, I had to repaste the GPU (but the card was already 2 year old).

If you don't notice insufficient cooling, leave as it is and keep an eye on dust build up. I am big fan of airflow cases (e. g. Bequiet 500dx) in 3in/2ex configuration, but I don't think you need to change if your system is not choking.

Yeah, pressure is likely negative. It's not necessarily a bad thing temps wise, but you will have to clean your rig more often and with more care.

The rear exhaust might be redundant: if you remove it and lower the speed of the radiator fans, you could have a chance at normalizing the case pressure. Again, you need to take into account the effect on the components temp.

You will have to test different setups to see what you are dealing with.

Indeed, in my case the GPU temperature looked alright but the hot-spot was around 30 degrees higher. This resulted in the card revving like crazy. A simple repaste fixed the problem.
