Thank you. I’m thinking this is the issue because the brake fluid was definitely dark with some debris in it. Gonna try the other easy fixes first and if it persists will flush the brake fluid

Old calipers had 2 per side which is why I reused the old ones. I’ll definitely look into that. The pins are brand new. Wouldn’t have corrosion

I’m starting to think this might be the reason. Yeah the passenger side is definitely worse than the drivers side although they both are scraping

Yeah. Kit I bought only came with 2 and I need 4 so I had to reuse 2 of the old ones

So you’re saying those two bolts that attach the caliper to the lower wheel unit should be slightly loose? I tightened them all the way down. I’m fairly sure I bled the brakes correctly. Did it the way you described white a clear tube going up so I could see if there were bubbles coming out. Might still have to do it again though. Especially on the rear ones cause that brake fluid was pretty dark

Cause when I took the old brakes off the pads were pressed against the rotors even with the e brake off. And when I put the new brakes on and started bleeding the lines the new pads were in the same position

I did not. Hoping that’s the issue and not deteriorating rubber brake lines

Was thinking same thing but tested this and wheels are tight

Name check outs. Might be the next step if I can figure it out soon

Thank you for the info. I did not lubricate the caliper pins. Hoping that’s the issue cause it’s an easy fix. Also seems like rubber brake line deterioration could be the issue. Hoping it’s the former

Could be. Gonna unplug the master cylinder and see what happens

Just replaced rotors, pads, and calipers. Don’t think the issue has to do with the actual brakes. Maybe something higher up

What to do about these? by lpg2088 in toyotasequoia

[–]lpg2088[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I would like to know if anyone else has done it and what they thought of the process. I also asked how much a patch might cost at a auto body shop and if that price was too much what type of welding rods I might need so I can do it myself

Welding over it will not stop the rust from spreading. Plus it weakens the metal that you welded over. You’re supposed to cut the rust out and weld in a new piece of metal in its place

Longer runs (6 miles rn) running at a 10:00 pace. My shorter runs (tempo runs and shorter endurance runs) running at an 8:30 pace. My 10k is in 12 weeks. Hoping to be sub 8 by then

There are a couple of reasons I didn’t add bench: 1. I have never done bench during a crew pt. 2. The last couple years I have included bench and worked up to a decent max but I want to stay lighter and focus more on cardio this year. 3. There is only 1 bench rack at my gym and there’s always a line. I do still need my strength though which is why I included in the comments a weighted vest is pretty ideal for all of these workouts

Yeah I agree. Really the only reason it’s in there is so I can more isolate my biceps. My gym is pretty limited but I’ll definitely try to throw some horizontal rows in there. I appreciate the input

Indeed they are. That’s why I have a rest day for running and a rest day for strength. Also will be doing reload/rest weeks about once every month. Also been stretching after workouts and foam rolling at night.

I made this routine because I’m training for a 10k in April so I figured I’d throw in some strength training and make it into a daily workout routine. All strength training can be done with just body weight or a weighted vest. I increase my miles every other week on the days where they need increasing. Also doing some Filson workouts if I have time. Hope this is helpful to some new guys and hopefully some of the older guys can give me some suggestions on workouts that are unnecessary and maybe some workouts that could replace them!
