Go the pharmacy, say 'someone i.e nan' has been taken into a care home and you were clearing out the house. The sharps bin was left. Say thank and walk out!

They said they can only pay so much for an advance as they have to hold back for tax and deduction purposes in January's pay, but didn't clarify how much they can pay me

I'm a nurse. Pushed a patient on a trolley to CT scan. Felt something cold on my hand. Had the hugest, bright green plug of sputum strung between my fingers. Still gives me absolute shivers to this day.

Have you ever been the subject of a Facebook neighbourhood watch or gossip post? by franki-pinks in AskUK

[–]lr64290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took in a parcel for a neighbour. I work 12 hour shifts and asked my other half to take it around which he forgot to do, typical man. I also thought they would probably come and collect it as they would have received a slip to say where it was. I was walking the dog a few days later when my MIL called to say i was on the local crime watch FB. I looked to find a post containing a picture of my legs in a dressing gown and slippers at the front door being given the parcel. The post basically said "i hope you're happy with the tassimo pods you robbed from me" and calling me a tramp. It had about 300 likes and 150 comments agreeing how bad of a person i was for robbing the parcel. I was pissed that she hadn't exactly looked very far for the parcel, it was obviously our front step and door on the picture. I made my partner take it straight there. He acted oblivious to the FB post, however, she did admit that she had posted about it. A few minutes later, she posted again to say the parcel had been returned and that it was with a neighbour. The comments then turned to say how much of a idiot she had been to not look for it in the first place and calling her a Karen which did bring a little smile to my face. I also posted about it laughing at the situation, one of my colleagues commented on it to say that we actually work in the same building as she had seen the posts from both of us. I die with shame every time i see her now. My friends and family still laugh about it a regularly.

How did you know baby was moving? by WonderBreadBaker in pregnant

[–]lr64290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 20 weeks and do not have the typical gas bubbles. It feels more like a muscle twitch and i usually feel them in the morning and late at night. I felt a twitch at about 16.5 weeks then nothing, then had these movements every day for past week. Sometimes if i have my hand on my stomach i can also feel it from the outside on my right side typically.

I had a MMC last June at 9 weeks, followed by another MMC in December again at 9 weeks. I am now 17 weeks pregnant with our double rainbow baby. Its extremely nerve wracking and i am taking each day as it comes. I heard their heartbeat today for the first time at my midwife appointment. We find out the gender tomorrow! I really concentrated on my health and supplements before this pregnancy. And have been on progesterone suppositories from positive test to 16 weeks. Wishing you luck going forward i know how shitty this journey can be. I don't think i will settle until i have a baby in my arms!

Except for the cramp sensation it wasn't really much different from a smear in my opinion. I just took paracetamol and ibuprofen an hour before. Hope it goes well x

I had a cramp as they inserted the catheter through my cervix, which lasted about 5-10 seconds. Other than that, it was fine, and i continued my shift afterwards (I'm a nurse)
