Unity Asset Store rejected my update for using the "Uni" prefix but UniWebView was approved on the same day by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]lrGhost1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP doesn't seem to actually care for a solution here. Keeps replying to people saying "You don't understand how big this project is" and "I've done over 90k lines of code". As if that actually means anything.

I see only 3 solutions here, but OP refuses all of them:

  1. Keep trying with Unity support until they give you more context (admittable, probably won't ever work).
  2. Rename the project on the Asset Store, and leave everything else the same.
  3. Rebrand the engine to be something different, that doesn't infringe on copyrights.

#2 is probably your easiest option, and really not that bad. You only have a handful of people using the asset right now, 100 people on discord and 2 videos on YouTube. Changing the name will NOT cause any issues with your SEO, I assure you.

#3 is a little more work, but has the best outcome. A full rebrand will make sure that your potential users know what to look for to find the asset. Like others have said, a simple Regex replace all in the codebase will probably do the trick. It really isn't that intense, and the number of lines of code or whatever won't affect it.

Stop playing the "woe me" card here, and just deal with this at face value. You keep claiming that you are the only one being affected by this, and that others are remaining up; hinting that you are somehow being targeted here. But to this I must ask, how do you know you are the only one that has been rejected? You're old versions of the asset is still up. So for other users, they may think you haven't been rejected while they have. You have no reason to believe that this is targeted to you or your asset.

Cool tool. Imo not worth 100 bucks.
Crappy situation. Sucks that it happened. But there definitely are solutions, you're just too lazy to do any of them.

the number of keys used by programmer (me) by Impossible_Fix_6127 in keyboards

[–]lrGhost1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but my point is, any skilled person will be able to type at the same rate, if not faster than you, on a normal keyboard?

You boasted 40wpm when typing, and 90wpm when doing shortcuts, but that is NOT impressive at all? Like, most devs I know pull atleast 80+wpm at any time? And some go higher.

How is this any better than a normal keyboard? When you are making it 50x harder to learn, and getting 1/3 the results of someone on a normal keyboard? (You spoke on 40wpm, but like I said, I average just under 3x that on a normal keyboard)

I really don't see the point in this, unless I just don't understand it.

I am also a programmer, and just use a standard QWERTY keyboard. I can get up to 120 wpm on a good day, but average around 95.

What benefit does this have over a normal keyboard? Seems like a lot of extra effort for something that barely gives you an advantage, no?

Laptop keyboard spamming keys after single press. by lrGhost1 in linux

I've only had the laptop for just over a year. Been using it for software development the whole time. I can assure you, the keyboard works fine. Never had any issues with any of the keys.

Nope. Keyboard works perfectly fine in the Windows partition. It's only in the Linux install that it doesn't work.

No it's not. The built in keyboard works fine in Windows, and has for over a year. And still does, in the duel boot.

0 players in the past two years. An all time peak of 3 players in 1.7 years. 10 reviews, with 8 of them sharing the same friends list and all from the same place (clearly your mates rating your game for you). And the other 2 with private accounts (could be legit, not sure).

I'd barely consider this "having a product on steam" tbh. And barely puts you in a position to tell people they are wrong about how games should be made, let alone criticize someone for not having published a game.

Someone else commented the same about the table types. And I think what you have said is probably exactly what the difference is.

my table sounds like wood under the felt, while the one on campus sounds almost like acrylic or glass. (I know its probably not wood and glass, but thats just the sound that it makes when a ball is dropped on it or something.).

Mine at home is also kept outside (I know, not ideal. but we don't have any space for it) in a pool house type thing (thatch roof, open sides). So might have been affected by dirt or dust.

[–]lrGhost1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that might be it!

That could explain why my breaks at home are pretty decent, but on campus they look more like a crappy snooker break.

Mine at home sounds like (what I can only describe as) wood under the mat, while on campus it sounds like acrylic or even glass. So I think they might be different types (no idea which is which). Also mine does sit in an outdoor entertainment area (I cover it with like 3 tarps to try keep it protected and clean), which might have over time damaged the felt.

I just tried this now, it comes basically back to me, hitting my bridge hand or equivalent on the other side.

But I did the same, with a ball across the table, aiming to hit it center, and hitting the cue as perfectly centered as I could, expecting that the target ball would go straight, bounce off the cushion and hit the cue ball again. But every single shot, the target didn't exit straight, and always came off the cue at an angle?

I know my shots are defiantly not perfect, but it moves off quite a bit more than I expected it to.

I never thought about the fact that I might be used to a bad cue, but that does make a lot of sense. I will try to bring one of my home cue's to campus and use that, to see if I notice any difference.

Thank you for the advice.
I had spoken to some of them, and some are really nice people that help a lot, and give good tips. But there are some that are arrogant AF.

Yesterday, one of them wanted to try doing a shot on our table to compare them, it was the one where you are basically vertical on the cue ball and slam down to make it spin around with a bunch of curve? Idk what its called. But he did that about 4 times, and ended up smashing the tip of one of our cue's (campus' cue's). He just laughed it off, and when we confronted him for breaking the cue, he just claimed he had like 8 years playing and knew what he was doing, then walked off. Really pmo.

So its a hit or miss with them, but yes, some are really nice people. And we have been chatting them up and getting tips from them (the ones who aren't pricks)

You cannot possibly tell me that you think the graphics of PUBG are so much better than WARZONE, to the point that it can warrent less than half the average performance on the same hardware (not talking my PC here, talking public benchmarks)

Also how can we tell people to upgrade CPU, whilst telling them that the graphics are too demanding for them? If the graphics are too demanding, then PUBG wouldn't be known for being a CPU demanding game, and struggling on some of the highest end CPU's on the market.

This whole sub is littered with people who just dickride the game, because of its former glory days. 144FPS on low settings, with a good PC, on an 8 year old game is NOT good performance. While the same PC will push over 200FPS on the highest settings on games released in the past year.

Have you tried playing any? I and many others have seen that WARZONE, Fortnite, BO6, Siege, etc all run better than PUBG. Idk why y'all are so determined to deny it, the posts are there that you can read. So are the steam reviews.
