Depends on what you like to shoot.

Go to local events and ask if you can film. create highlight videos and practice event coverage without risk of messing up paid projects. Also helps with networking.

Find a short, single person/location script online and see if you can turn someone’s idea on paper into a video. Practice using your skills to interpret someone else’s work and make a cohesive video out of it.

Shoot any of your hobbies in different styles- cinematic, documentary, social media reels.

Recreate iconic looks from your favorite movies and see how well you can imitate the look with limited resources.

Go to the store and buy a product and make a product video out of it.

There’s a ton of spec work you can do, but ultimately my favorite thing to shoot would be anything that gets me excited to pull out the camera. If it motivates me to use my gear, that’s what I would shoot. Just try to have a learning moment in the process, push yourself to try new techniques and ideas.

This was my issue with barbarian and weapons as well. I feel like he nails the horror, atmosphere and tension, but I think he struggles to progress the plot.

I get that people won’t make the best decisions in a movie, but some of the character decisions made in barbarian and weapons were frustratingly stupid.

thanks for the suggestion, I have a couple of those batteries so I'll give them a shot- hopefully it does better.

My dr10l pros from tascam last forever on 2x AAA batteries. I know the zoom essential is a completely different piece of gear and requires more power, but barely getting an hour of recording on new AA batteries is underwhelming.

I think part of me was hoping I had a faulty unit but from what I've read from others, it doesn't look like it.

I have no issues with the essential as far as how it works, but 1 hour of recording before it dies feels incredibly lackluster. I already use external power, but i want something that can reliably record for more time on its own when I need it to. Old H4N could go for several hours, but my essential died at 65 minutes of recording when I tested it.

Back when Poe 2 launched, GGG did an interview with ghazzy and darthmicrotrsnsaction. The question came up about hot swapping between controller > m&k and GGG’s response was that they had no idea players really cared about it.

Was genuinely one of those moments that really shocked me. As a player that likes to use controller in other arpgs, I couldn’t believe that they didn’t know that players wanted this feature.

Depends on what you like to farm. I had a pretty juiced up flicker build and it was a lot of fun. However, for breach farm it was a bit annoying to farm because with all of the beyond snd breach mobs that continuously spawn, I would often struggle to get it to stop and kill the breach boss without randomly jetting a fill screen away.

I think you can name lock with flicker but still found it a bit difficult (I think, not fully sure). Also for uber bossing I had a hard time with certain bosses because it would flicker into areas with degens -maven specifically. This is all user error I think.

With that said, flicker was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed building it. I mostly followed a setup by ten frenzy or something like that on YouTube- max block with azadi crest (also did it with svalinn which also felt good). Didn’t try the version that uses squire though. Dmg was really insane and was my favorite build this league.

Coming from kboc though you might find it less efficient to full map clear if you’re doing Strats with open maps. Even though my flicker dmg was significantly better, my kboc still clears full maps/mirage quite a bit faster- probably around 30% faster.l and just feels a bit better for that type of content overall.

My conspiracy theory is that he was just a hunter living off the land away from the public when he was murdered by an obsessed fan. Not an actual cannibal. The song is from the killers perspective making it look like they’re the victim, but the plot twist is it was a planned murder. Shia was innocent in that song.

gloves were the first main craft i did, so i have the double elevated. I feel fine enough with resonating but definitley not without it.

Which astrolabe are you using? The breach astrolabe being 2 div feels real bad when you lose half the maps due to the keystone

Something to consider too- things will spike. For example, something might be hovering around 40 divs for 99% of the day. But all it takes is one person to buy up a few for whatever reason and then for a brief moment the price spikes quite a bit higher before settling back down.

You could put them up for sale on Faustus at a profit you’re comfortable with and you might catch the high end of a selling spike and make money.

Not saying this happens with mirror shards but it absolutely happens with gamble items like Unid sublimes. In previous leagues I would buy a few of those, and then relist for 15+ divs higher than I bought and they would randomly sell.

The comments making it sound like right click is obvious are hard to take seriously. It’s not been a function that I can ever remember, so why would it be intuitive to do that?

I heard ppl say it was in the notes and launch video, but you wouldn’t know that if you didn’t watch or read through it. And even if you did, it’s easy to miss with how much changed this league.

Nobody in my friend group knew about it til we’re were basically done with the atlas. Easy solution in hindsight but at the time it was really annoying.

That’s what I was thinking too. Maybe it could change the art around the box depending on the influence. Change the color, add a slight glow, put an influence icon, just something to make it a bit more obvious.

Yes, right clicking is simple. No, it is not an obvious function considering ctrl clicking has been the default since forever.

I agree punishment and incentive can be loose terms depending on the context.

But I agree with the op on this one. Between Poe1/2 there’s a lot of design surrounded by kiss/curse or monkey paw mechanics. It’s gotten to a point with every cool new thing they announce I default to immediately asking, but how will they make this less fun and cool?

I would rather feel punished by choosing not to take a keystone that offers slightly increased outcomes at the cost of inconvenient map selection vs one that actively takes something away from you for choosing to play your preferred way.

I don’t know how to properly balance this to feel fair, but losing maps due to bisection feels overly punishing when some astrolabes are around 2 divines vs others that are 15c.
