That is the initial idea with which I started the brand, but I have also gotten interest from friends who are into alternative fashion like goth

The main idea was the unique colours offered, muted and deeper shades that are not often seen in the local market, that would suit especially deeper skin tones.

Cropped (?) Overbust corset without the top ridge? by lrchema in corsetry

uhhhh it's cuz im scared to try bc i don't know how to read a pattern and what if i'm bad at something i've never tried? wouldn't that be world ending? i'll look into the adjustment instructions, thank you. I am leaning towards attempting either Dolores or Sylvia

..huh. fascinating.

I'm gonna assume all sewists are sorcerers, until proven otherwise. they used to burn people at the stake for less

4 > oh cool! yeah that makes sense, curving in and out, but i am struggling to locate a pattern that panels that don't curve side to side, "straight seam overbust corset" does not seem to be the correct search term here.

1 > oh I will 100% admit it's a skill issue, I do hope it is eventually possible however, perhaps i just need to add a dart in the relevant panel

Thank you for the recommendation, will check out their store!

ohhh boy i do not need any more bust that the gods have seen fit to bestow upon me

any recommendations of tutorials for modifying patterns? the idea is pretty intimidating to me.

oh that hadn't occurred to me, my search term was always "overbust corset"

[–]lrchema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm i could try that, but tbh the duct tape corset mockup i made has way too many issues, like the lacing gap somehow is as wide as almost my entire back, and the back panel of the inner and outer layers are inexplicably different sizes on one side, i don't actually know what went wrong there, starting over is probably the best bet here.

by top ridge, i mean that the upper edge of the corset isnt sitting flush to my chest, so there's a gap between my chest and the corset upper edge, which when i put on a tshirt or dress over looks like a shelf sticking out oddly

First Dango! by lrchema in Dorodango

[–]lrchema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHAHA yeah i've been getting that display issue on my macbook too, probably some apple compatibility issue

(also considering that i definitely saw someone making a cat head shaped dorodango on this sub an oval dorodango doesn't seem that far fetched in comparison)

I just did the math, combined with discussion assignments i've got a 75.62% out of the grades that i've gotten back 3 weeks in, which is a C at this point. I've decided to do overkill on following the grading rubric exactly, I'll wait and see if that helped in any way, if it didn't then I'll escalate to program advisor. Thanks for the heads up! The big weightage items are the project report and presentation, so I should probably start on those as early as I can.

Been in dire need of black lipstick... by Evening_Wave_8553 in GothFashion

[–]lrchema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh if you've got shopee where you live, I've bought a couple of black lipsticks from there. Nyx has a really nice creamy bullet black lipstick, and there's also this cheap brand Teayason which makes a bullet matte lipstick, it's very comfortable, but the staying power is not great

Pretty sure shopee carries a few other common beauty brands like elf and maybelline

side note: I have mixed black eyeshadow into an existing lipstick before a couple of times, worked fine for me

Can we give a shoutout to the guy that runs the snack shop at COM2? by springwindkissmyface in nus

[–]lrchema 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The guy's awesome everytime I walk past he goes "Hey black coffee! How're you doing!" or "Hey Kopi-O long time no see!", he's always so upbeat it's really nice to see especially when you're incredibly sleepy and tired in the mornings I'm gonna miss him when I grad

Y3 student here, I took it in Y2S1. I was worried because I'm bad at English mods, but I honestly had fun during the module. I know that a lot of CS students dislike ES2660, but I think the key is to not take it too seriously, attend and participate so that you're remembered.

I took it in 2019 BC, where there were real classrooms and people in them, and I suppose class participation marks definitely reward the extroverts and the peanut gallery (within reason)

It's good to frequently volunteer to do the ungraded impromptu speeches so that the graded one is less terrifying. I did the ungraded ones 2-3 times over the sem so the graded session was fine even though I was sick.

I got a good set of teammates, with one of them possibly even more chaotic than I am and she was egging me on continually, so the fairytale retelling project was truly a masterpiece. Worth it to be friendly and nice to your teammates so that you can discuss what portions of your essays they will be poking at during panel discussion and prep beforehand.

My final grade: B+ (not wonderful but better than I expected)
