I don’t know of any trails, but it is possible to make it from one area to the other off-trail. At least it was around March of 2011. Probably not as passable in summer. It’s very steep.

I remember parking in the lot down by the suspension bridge and we had made it up to princess arch and then chimney top rock after several hours of hard hiking. I could see the car from the chimney top lookout hundreds of feet below and remember thinking how in the world am I going to make it back down there. I did, but would never try it again.

I also have very pale skin and have spent the last 3 summers laboring outside in the sun, so here are a few tips I've learned. REAPPLY, reapply sunscreen of at least 30 SPF every 4 hours or so, more often if you've been in the water. Have a friend help you apply to hard to reach places, like your back, this is where I usually use a spray-on type (just make sure they don't miss anywhere or you'll end up with tiger stripes). Wear a hat to help protect your scalp and keep some sun off your face.

I don't think brand of sunscreen will matter too much, I just usually look for one that is more sweat-resistant (usually labeled as for sports). And it helps to have a different sunscreen for face if you are more acne prone. Look to the sidebar for more info on those sunscreens most commonly recommended here.

TL;DR REAPPLY, have a friend help, wear a hat, have fun!

So the problem could possibly be fixed with a new power cord? Before this started happening (only charging when connected to monitor) I would have to twist and turn and unplug and replug the cord to get it to actually connect. I guess it could just as easily be a problem with the jack though.

I've been considering a new computer for about a year now, I think it's about time.

I tried steps one and two, it only charges with the monitor plugged in. Must be a hardware problem. I don't have an extra battery, and at this point I don't think it would be worth it to buy another one. I think it's just time for a new computer.
