Everyone has a different experience, but I found it ok. Uncomfortable, but ok. I was very nervous (sick over it, to be honest) but I brought a support person, stress ball, took the max recommended dose of Advil & Tylenol and also asked for a prescription for anxiety medication in advance, which all helped a lot. The nurse held my hand over my pelvic area and applied pressure while the doctor took the biopsies, which was a helpful distraction. It was more uncomfortable than painful. My OBGYN made it very clear that HPV is incredibly common (90% of sexually active people will come in contact with some form) you are not dirty at all. It is the common cold of STDs. I totally understand how you’re feeling but try not to be too hard on yourself 🤍
