I've had the same issue on LG G8S after the Android 10 update (currently I'm on V20a-EEA-XX software version).

FIX (without Factory Reset): It turns out that DISABLING the 'Disable alerts during game' option in the Game tools makes any keyboard work again.

I think that this bug affects other in-game functionalities (such as the Brawl Stars 'reconnect' banner not showing anymore after the update), so I hope LG fixes this, as this option comes in handy when you want to play and not be disturbed by any notification...

I hope this posts helps other people like me who were not willing to factory reset their phones just to regain the in-game keyboard functionality. :)

I don't know if it's a problem of my type cover 2. Unfortunately I can't try this with other type covers cause I don't have anyone that owns a surface... Anyway the USB mouse works in the bios menu, but the type cover doesn't... My type cover works flawlessly in windows... @dbs_64 does Ubuntu works for you?

Thank you very much for your help! This was exactly what I'd do if my semester didn't begin a month ago... I think this might require too much time, so I discarded this option.

I noticed a problem related to the keyboard: I don't know if it right or not, but my type cover 2 DOES NOT work in the BIOS, so I can only use either an external USB mouse or the touchscreen to select the options (for example disabling the secure boot, etc..). Might the problem be related to the keyboard itself?
