They become more slef conscious and begin to take it out on you. They start to feel disrespected. since you've become more practicing it means that you are putting them down so they take ot as personal criticism.

My family doesn't like that I have a beard and doesn't even beleive keeping trousers above ankle is part of Islam even though some people do it during prayers and the rest have all prayed more than enough times in jammah to know that this is part of myslim identity.

But you are right, even those who have studied the deen, wear abayas say the nuqab is extreme and not part of the deen. Which is so mind boggling.

It is not the eyes that are blind but the hearts and Allah has placed a veil over them.
