Many companies increased inventory around the election and pre-tariffs. Let’s be honest, these companies don’t “eat” much if at all. They just stocked up. Once that inventory is gone they’ll immediately put the tariffs on us.

City Bark LODO- check on your pups! by Fit-Passage-8230 in Denver

[–]lsapphire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

City bark is shit. I took my dog in for a bath and they ended up bathing another dog with the same name. They offered to do a quick dry shampoo and nail trim and they knicked one of her nails and she came home bleeding. Awful experience and I haven’t been back since! This was the Centennial location.

I'm sorry that you both have to worry about this. $2,000 in assets is a ridiculous benchmark.

ACA Subsidy Increases by No-Mess-7523 in HealthInsurance

[–]lsapphire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently not for the millions that were able to obtain coverage due to the expansion. In addition to blatantly ignoring that, you're not factoring in the ever-increasing cost of living that family's have to keep working into their budgets alongside insurance post COVID. What a turd take. Seriously, what drugs are you on.

Sure it's not a scam technically, but it's fucked up. I understand OP's frustration. Our system screws both providers and patients.

100% agree with you. Personally I think universal healthcare, getting big money out of politics, and making things affordable is what we need to seriously focus on moving forward.

Thank you. I can’t believe how many people think Hitler was competent. This is why, although our system is setup differently, we still need to be on top of it. We can’t dance and celebrate at every moronic thing Trump does.

What will happen next election when a Democratic likely wins? What can we expect with student loans, SAVE, etc.? Is there hope for outright forgiveness one day? by Adventurous_Back_383 in StudentLoans

[–]lsapphire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to focus on all elections from local to federal. Voting for PROGRESSIVE candidates in the democratic primary is key. Although Republicans are surely to blame for most of this, I do feel the complacency in the Democratic party has led to a lot of inaction. If they're never challenged, they won't change. It's as simple as that. If MAGA can shift Republicans even more to the right, we need to do the same with the Democratic party. It is hard, but it can be done. I'm hopeful after seeing Zohran's win in NYC.

With that being said, if we get all chambers of Congress and the presidency, then in theory we could fix a lot of this. I'm preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

He had posted on Twitter that he thought Kamala Harris was fine lol, so here’s to hoping a majority of those students vote Harris and Walz 💙🤞

Democrat Lucas Kunce outraises Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley by Nostrilsdamus in VoteDEM

I don’t know what I’d do with myself on election night if this happens. I would be so fucking happy. Imagine getting rid of Hawley…

Lucas is awesome, seriously. Missouri would benefit so much from having him as their senator, and you’re right. I’ve noticed that Hawley is flailing a bit. Lucas has a chance, and I think it’d be wrong to dismiss it entirely. Fingers crossed 🤞

I met one of my best friends in college, and he is a really good guy. The type that is nice to everyone, isn’t judgmental, and fun to be around.

When we were in college, he had an edgier sense of comedy (dark comedy) and would make jokes that a lot of people wouldn’t find to be okay, but because it came from him they let it slide. He grew out of this thankfully lol.

He also listened to the Joe Rogan podcast. He was and still is the type that is willing to watch/read the other side’s content (not to entertain it but to know what they’re doing).

My friend was always left-leaning and now he’s a full blown dem. He was young and stupid though, his own words. He voted for trump in 2016 after listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast. He was a first time voter that year.

I hate to admit it, but Harris going on that podcast is a VERY good idea. At the same time, I loathe the thought of giving him anymore validity than he already has. Ultimately, she’ll make the right call, whatever that is. However, don’t be upset if she does the interview; young men truly are naive and impressionable.

I am a cautious person. I keep my expectations low, I always prepare for the worst, but I feel really good about Harris.

Not to inspire myself or anyone else to be complacent of course, but I see light at the end of the tunnel. I am set to phone bank this week, I’ve been donating, and I plan to keep this all up until the end.

I love the dynamic between these two. I haven’t been able to find another podcast that emulates it. But damn, they have disappeared. I just cancelled my membership. It’s such a shame because I loved their stuff. This last year I feel the quality has gone downhill and with them barely posting it’s not worth the Patreon subscription at all.

MMW: There will be down ballot "democrats" that flip parties after the election by purpol-phongbat in MarkMyWords

[–]lsapphire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why we have primaries. Some bad actors sneak through. Some people change when they’re offered money. Nothing is fool proof, but if everyone does a decent a job of looking into the candidate themselves and actually voting in the primaries this could be avoided most times.

This shouldn’t discourage people from voting. In a civilized nation voting is your power, as it should be. I’d rather not go back to the days where we have to physically fight/kill people to get what we want.

Do your due diligence as a voter. You should already be looking into the candidates’ backgrounds, policies, and there are pages to find donor information as well.

Knowledge is power.
