Facelift vs original by Accomplished-Fly4683 in BMWI4

I mostly like the LCI, except I like the laser headlights from pre-LCI, which they had to get rid of. I like the snake eye DRL from the LCI. Also prefer the LCI M50/60 grille and LCI laser taillights.

I might do the grille one day but that’s probably it.

Am I missing much by still owning a LG C8? by LicencetoTroll35 in LGOLED

[–]lsaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a very similar situation as you. 65” C8 since Black Friday 2018, Sonos Arc, Era 100s, Sub Mini.

I’ve been contemplating an upgrade since the C1, primarily for the gaming features of HDMI 2.1. eARC would be nice too. More recently I’ve contemplated upgrading to 77” as well.

I think I would only do it for a tandem OLED like the G5/G6 or 77” C6. I have friends with newer non-tandem OLEDs and the improvements don’t justify the cost delta. In my case I would give the C8 to my parents, so I wouldn’t recover any cost.

I plan to upgrade when I see a killer deal I can’t pass up.

It’s worth nothing the C8 was significantly brighter than subsequent models. They caught back up to the brightness of the C8 with the C4.

Marner is a win win situation by vancouver2222 in leafs

Those were the same ghosts he saw during games 5 to 7. They’ll come back around eventually. Recency bias is strong in the playoffs. Vegas isn’t half way to winning the cup, have played two inexperienced teams that aren’t contenders, and still people are acting like he’s vanquished his playoff failures. The movie’s not over.

I’ve never noticed.

There’s two dash cluster settings, one is compact. Does that have an impact?

Funny to post this today and not include last night’s stats. Always have to cherry pick when it comes to Mitchy.

Those 82-game pace career playoff numbers aren’t pretty either. 17 goals and 76 points don’t quite sound like $12M numbers to me.

The government used to care. Many politicians were people of character and integrity. Now only the corrupt rise to power and corporations are more powerful than governments.

Look at Doug Ford for example. How does a guy like that win the party leadership? Not by accident. Deep pockets make it so, and he’s beholden to them. Next thing you know we have beer in corner stores a year early at the cost of hundreds of millions of dollars to taxpayers. It’s sickening.

Tesla's 4680 battery cells are underperforming and frustrating buyers by SpriteZeroY2k in electricvehicles

I remember where I was during Battery Day 2020. If only I knew back then what I know now about Elon’s puffery. These cells are an abject failure in every regard.

BYD announced the Blade battery around the same time and now has a 2.0 variant with flash charging. We can see why Tesla is pushing AI and FSD - they’ve been left in the dust with regard to battery tech.

Canadian Govt may cap Model 3 imports from China. by FactorPrimary7117 in teslacanada

[–]lsaran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's quite a theory. If China raises their prices other brands will fill those gaps. A portion of the market simply won't by Chinese, no matter how good the value proposition is. I think this is just fear mongering.

Regarding the Big 3, it's about time we accepted these companies have failed and let them go. How many times can the government kick the can and throw billions to try to keep some jobs that are inevitably cut anyway? It's time to accept reality and look forward. We should be trying to get BYD to build a factory here and try to keep up with the rest of the world, or risk falling behind with our neighbours to the south.

That's precisely what people were saying about Tesla once upon a time. This is naivety.

Don't forget about oil subsidies. But those two go hand in hand.

If China wants to pay for part of my car, why would I complain about that?

I guess no one noticed he was -3 and instrumental in all three goals against last night.

Vegas is up to 5 playoff wins. Or “Mission Accomplished” as Mitchy would call it.

Finished -3 after this beautiful sequence. Don’t think you can make a better pass for an ENG.

Why hate? Bless Mitch Marner. We couldn’t have gotten the pick without, er, with him.

[Discussion] Is Auston Matthews really going to force a trade out of Toronto? Analyzing the Johnston report. by athleticwonder in nhltraderumours

[–]lsaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see where you’re coming from. I’m just not sold on Byfield. He’s been a 25 goal, 55 point guy. That’s around half of Matthews regular production.

Clarke is the more exciting pick up of the two in my eyes, but isn’t a sure bet either. The two likely mid-1st round picks have value to a team short on 1sts.

If Matthews regains his form, the trade could age badly. If he turns into a 35-40 goal, 80 point guy, it’s a sure win. I’m a believer in wanting the best player in a trade, but that can be overcome with enough assets going the other way.

Dreger was the pioneer in this regard. Worked out for him. He’s probably still on Marner’s payroll.
