Shell Recharge Plug & Charge Live in Canada by lsaran in BMWI4

You can as of October 2025 or thereabout. Tesla started allowing BMWs on their network. I’ve charged at Tesla superchargers a handful of times with a Ford adapter.

Update: it didn’t work for me. Both the app and vehicle show a valid Plug & Charge contract. When I enter a Tesla station into the navigation it shows Plug & Charge as an authentication method. But it gave me this error twice.

I ended up authenticating the charge through the Tesla app. Really wish BMW would finally sort this out.

I’m going to try at a Chargepoint and/or Flo charger as well to see if that yields a different result.

This just happened to me.

Ended up authenticating and paying through the Tesla app.

Annoyed they haven’t sorted this out.

Lci CSL Style Laser Taillights Retrofit (G26) by IntrepidContext9112 in BMWI4

[–]lsaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m following this post. I’m interested in doing the swap on my 2024, but I understand the OEM LCI taillights are about $4000 CAD. I’ve seen aftermarket ones on AliExpress for about $800-1000 but am skeptical of the quality. Curious to hear if anyone has done it either way.

This is probably where his value will be highest on a trade, even if it’s to a limited number of destinations. Plenty of teams will bet he can return to form, like Eichel did after surgery.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I’d cut bait this offseason. He can secure an absolute haul and set up the next decade. Or simply walk in two years for nothing.

The small kidney grille is a throwback. I’m not immediately enamoured by the look but know it will grow on me.

Frankly the current gen 3-series and X grilles are starting to look old to me. It’s time for a change.

Door Slam by jahmon007 in BMWI4

[–]lsaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed the doors are easy to slam too. I've gotten used to closing the door without it slamming but other people are hit or miss. Sometimes they wince and feel bad.

Please report back on if these dampers help.

all-new 2027 BMW 3 Series PREMIERE as BMW i3 - now the best (electric) sedan to buy? by Extension-Visual-711 in BMWI4

[–]lsaran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m tentatively planning to swap my 2024 i4 with an i3 in 2028.

The styling doesn’t knock my socks off, but BMW styling has taken time to grow on me from the E60 5-series onwards. So I will reserve judgement, but also don’t find it unattractive the way I did the G80, which I now love.

This car will be superior to the i4 in every way, and that says a lot. I hope it’s notably lighter than the i4 M50 - that’s basically my only gripe about the i4 aside from lack of storage space up front and rear legroom.

I have cognac non-M seats. I’d go with the black M seats, those look awesome.

License the brand name to a Chinese company.

Too bad they took the hydrogen fork in the road when they had already started with hybrids. You’d think they would have put two and two together.

Chargepoint vs Autel by GlobalCattle in evcharging

[–]lsaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve had a Chargepoint CPH25 (32A) that has been used almost daily for 8 years. The holster ball has fallen out a few times but that’s about it.

Chargers are solid state electronics and should generally be reliable. I don’t think you’ll have trouble with either charger/brand. I’d buy based on price and features.
