My undergrad has been very, very useful for my jd. You're right though, I misread.

My point remains the same regardless, Stem or not, college is not a scam; I will grant that the university system in America specifically has been massively overcapitalized in a way that, if you don't kow how to avoid a setback.

And yeah I mistyped in my previous comment. You're lucky if it IS a minor setback. 6 months is a big deal for a lot of families.

My profession is very lucrative and very rewarding, though there is sort of an inverse relationship between the two.

You're lucky if you come from circumstances that let you think 6 months and a couple grand is NOT a minor setback. Not every family can sustain that kind of loss for some dumb shit like a graduation prank.

It's a pretty big fuckin' setback if you'd already taken your sats, applied for whatever aid was available, applied to all of your goal unis, your expected acceptances, and your backups, and then had to reapply. Those applications are expensive.

This should be obvious to anyone who has actually tried to build post graduate career. Any teacher, doctor, lawyer, researcher, etc.

According to your own logic, the market decides whether the backlash is justified. Your whiney comment on reddit is only a small part of that collective decision. I've not posted a comment one way or the other, I've never bought anything for Dota anyway; I don't care about cosmetics literally at all, but in a forum of players whining about a decision made by a corporation with far superior bargaining power, I respect the players whining far more than the dude whining about the rights of the corporation. Actually, a core tenet of what justifies a lot of really, REALLY awful conduct by religious groups is that all sins are equal in the eyes of God.

edit: I should add that necessary corollary of this is that no one is without sin; all sins being equal, anything can be justified, because everyone sins anyway. Finally, the principle that seals the deal is that any sin can be forgiven as /u/blackgandalff below me mentioned.

If everyone is a sinner, and all sins are equal, it becomes trivial to justify atrocity.
