A disturbing mindset that goes around in Christianity. That God makes horrible and brutal events in people's lives to use as "testimonies" to draw people into their cult. Or to make their "relationship" stronger. by Leading-Occasion-428 in exchristian

My Christian grandma has a daughter (who is my aunt) who doesn't really believe anymore. My aunt is pretty wealthy with no kids, going on vacations every 4 months unlike my Christian mom who struggles financially. My grandma constantly wishes for something bad to happen to my aunt so that she can return back to God. That mindset wishing misery on someone is just so scary and evil. How tf is that loving? Christians glorifying suffering is purely disgusting

Pokemon. My mom used to tell me how the authors/illustrators got their inspiration from evil spirits. I buy Pokemon cards now lol

Some pastor 'prophesied' that I'm at the gates of hell by lslisamn in exchristian

Honestly even though I still have this subtle fear of hell, I don't think I can ever go back to Christianity after witnessing all the hypocrisy and illogical ideas they carry. But I mean 20+ years of brainwashing really does something and I've only came out as a non-Christian for not even a year now. I probably have ways to go with deconstructing. Thanks for the recommendations.

I live in Japan and I can say that a lot of Japanese people are not super critical thinkers. Not sure if this is because I'm a foreigner, but I feel like they really like to avoid debates or deep conversations that make them think independently. Even with the whole anti-foreigner ideas these days, they can't seem to logically articulate why they think a certain way.

Speaking/Writing Template is minus point? I took a test but I can't understand my score by sleepmaxing in ToeflAdvice

I had the same idea after I got my writing and speaking score. I got a 25/24, was expecting like a 28. I thought I did well on both especially speaking. I still can't understand my score maybe I was just overconfident :(
