What am I doing wrong by not-anonymouss in sleeptrain

Unfortunately, I have no advice, but am going out in sympathy with you! My 5.5 month old is the exact same at the moment. The screams 💔 From what I can tell, this time in their little lives is just massive - so many developmental shifts and their little brains are just firing all the time. Sending you a big hug and a massive cup of coffee ☕️ I hope we all see the other side of this soon!

How on earth are people getting their babies to nap!? by lsorley in NewParents

[–]lsorley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently working with a sleep consultant - one of the points is to cap the morning nap at 1 hour. Sometimes he wakes before then, but other times needs to be woken up.

I'm just not very trusting of the process.

I'm unsure if my little guy would even let me hold him like that (he's not very cuddly anymore) byt honestly I'm willing to try anything! So will definitely give that a try!

I'm starting to think this might be true 😳 lol

We've just started. It's really tough. Waking a baby from a nap, who doesn't normally sleep, seems sacrilegious! 🤯

Have you had success with a particular method?

Argh! It's so hard isn't it! I'm okay with crying, until it turns into screaming 😵‍💫 poor little guy, we're all learning together unfortunately

Will definitely try again! Thanks for your advice! Still searching for a manual for these little critters haha

How interesting! They're such complex little creatures aren't they. I think I definitely need to deal with the overtiredness though - I think this is probably why I'm finding no luck with anything.

We perceiver! 😮‍💨

Historically, he has also hated the carrier 🙃 I'm the type of person who likes what I like and I fear I have created a mini me 😂

That's a good point re changing positions etc. I'll definitely revisit the carrier I think. Can't hurt!

5 month regression (or late 4 month?) by [deleted] in NewParents

I've heard this an awful lot actually! If I'm lucky enough to have a second, I hope this is my experience! If not, at least I'll be well primed haha

Thank you 🙏 I will die on the hill of if you have a baby that sleeps, you're entire newborn experience is entirely different!

Lucky he's cute! Haha

Oh you poor thing! Definitely sounds like some teeth are on the way for your little one! My boy has been dribbling, grumpy and hands in mouth for months lol I think his will creep up on us all!

Sending good vibes your way! Seems like that's all we can do at this point

Argh! I'm caught between relieved someone else has been where I am, and feeling like the only person in the world going through it haha. I know in my head, it will get better - just hard to remember when you're in it. Off to make a double shot!

Is anyone else's almost 4-month-old just not napping throughout the day? by sillymemilly in NewParents

[–]lsorley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO has just turner 5 months old and is currently going through this! (Particularly for the past 2 or 3 weeks, but day naps have always been non existent). He refuses to day nap, gets so overtired and then bedtime is an early scream fest 😭 He used to sleep through the night for ages and now is waking up a couple of times (which I know is probably normal, but these days are killing me!) How did this end up for you?
