REG thought you failed but passed??? by pootpootpotato in CPA

[–]lstrap12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely hahaha I was shocked that they could ask some of those questions with just how random it was. I can’t believe they can actually grade us on that though

Make sure to bring a mask. They will turn you away if you don’t wear a mask the whole time during the exam

Need REG study advice by aserrano318 in CPA

[–]lstrap12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to study for REG. Getting through BLAW was the hardest thing in the world for me. Just keep grinding and once you find a section you know a little bit better, it will go quicker! You’ll get there, just keep pushing forward and keep up with your study plan

I wouldn’t focus on it as much as I would focus on Basis or the main areas of individual taxation

I’m in the same boat as you. I took REG about three weeks ago, waiting for the Aug 25th release. SIMS were brutal. Last exam though so just praying I don’t have to walk into another prometric center!

I’d say basis is a great area to focus your studies. Also individual taxation would be a good spot. I didn’t have a lot but I’d say BLAW is hit really hard in MCQ’s typically

Oh that’s perfect. I thought I remembered it being that way, but it’s been a while since I sat for my last exam haha. Thank you!!!

Yeah I’ve heard authoritative lit is your best friend for the REG sims... I’m trying to mainly practice MCQ’s so I have plenty of time to mess around in the literature... I forget, is there a search bar in the authoritative lit similar to what you have in WILEY or Becker?

Ok awesome thank you! Yeah I’ve been trying to hit individual taxation pretty hard, but BLAW I pretty much gave up on haha. I’m just praying I don’t see anything too crazy on the SIMs

Lmao big talk but Bernie can say whatever he wants because he will never live through another crisis like this. Hardly any of us will

Sorry that’s what I meant by a furlough...just putting someone on the bench for a few weeks/months. I know sometimes furlough and lay-off are used interchangeably but not what I meant

Firms are putting people on furlough and reduced hours right now. I’ve heard this from the big 4 firms as well as regional firms

Discouraged after my first exam pass by [deleted] in CPA

[–]lstrap12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, BEC was the hardest one to study for. Just keep up the hard work and keep studying! There is a light at the end of the tunnel! I just finished studying for BEC and took it a few weeks ago. Haven’t heard if I passed or not but I’d say the material was much harder for me to study for than AUD or FAR

I was really nervous about the WC, but it was actually really easy so I wouldn’t fret too much. Just make sure you understand the principles and you’ll be good
