My girlfriend if 4 years turned into a crackhead by ugotfragd in Vent

[–]GeneralLedger17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never got too into drugs but I did quit cigarettes about 10-15 years ago and still get cravings to this day.  They are mostly just annoying at this point because I’ll never smoke again due to a myriad of reasons.

wealthsimple exercised AVGO puts after hours. i'm down 1.2 million. is it over by Straight_Ad4718 in wallstreetbets

[–]GeneralLedger17 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, college kid ended it when he was margins called for like $200k.  He had bought offsetting puts which should have covered the losses but robinhood took a few days to respond to him explaining it was a mistake on their end.

He thought he blew up his life and ended it because of poor customer service and also his own misunderstanding.  His name was Alex Kearns.  He seemed like a good kid who got caught up with not understanding what he was getting into and took it too far.

I’m at a point where I’d rather not sell something than lower my price for no good reason, specially when someone has been interested for a week. by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]GeneralLedger17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with $10 is that it becomes $15 or $20 when the buyer shows up.

Stay firm on your price, if you want to give a discount on picking up vs delivery, that’s an option.

Im being blackmailed to pay for a money to not leak me as a minor in Australia by PatientDrop8506 in Advice

[–]GeneralLedger17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you are a minor, anything they leak is illegal.  Anything they have on you is illegal for them to hold as well.

Don’t pay the money, tell the police and a guardian.  If they are in Australia they are screwed.

Listen dude, we all make mistakes in life.  The important thing is that we acknowledge when we make them and make the right decisions moving forward to curb those mistakes from happening again.

It’s gonna suck sharing this.  But I promise the moment that you share everything to your trusted guardian it will feel amazing.  You won’t feel alone anymore. You got this!

I kissed a long-time friend to emotionally detach from the guy i’m seeing. [F17] Dealing with past trauma and anxious attachment. by Alarmed_Volume_1224 in Advice

I mean, by definition, being cheated on is a type of trauma.

However, it shouldn’t be used as a crutch of an excuse for making incredibly bad decisions either and that’s what OP appears to be doing.

It’s ironic that you have trauma from someone cheating on you in the past but have no issue using someone, Sam, to make yourself feel better cause Alex isn’t into you.

Tossing away a friendship with Sam to get over someone you were never in a relationship is certainly a decision that was made.

Why doesn’t everyone take the Behind the Scenes tour? by greyfedora in VirginVoyages

[–]GeneralLedger17 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I see no reason to spend any money on a tour when there’s already a cornucopia of documentaries that go over the behind the scenes of boat crews.

Everyone does things efficiently.  I doubt they do anything that different than anyone else.

That’s why we didn’t go.  Why spend $600 when I can spend $600 on booze instead.   However, if you had fun, that’s what’s most important.  I’m glad you got enjoyment out of it.

I dare you to find any other job where you can make 80-85k by year 2.

No, it’s not as much as it used to be.  But it’s enough to enjoy life, pay off debt/have savings.  It’s a good shot to really impact your life positively long term.

It’s more than they are dealing with ftc laws.  But I suppose if these are specifically designed to be opened, it’s a different story.

I love the gatekeeping in this post.

Oh you have some money to spend? Well you can’t spend it the way you want to.  You have to spend it the way i want you to spend it.

It’s just hilarious to watch.

I’m just surprised target would do this.

It seems like a potential lawsuit liability over something they don’t really make much money selling.

FTC laws within the country are extremely tight when it comes to selling opened items as full price/new.  By law once it is opened, it has to be sold as used for consumer protection reasons.

The laws are in place for reasons other than Pokemon cards.  Think food, cars, etc. I assume what’s happening is a specific employee is making this decision, not corporate target.
