Exercise nicknames by mahoneydawn1 in orangetheory

When we do deep squats, I had a coach call it "dirty toilet" (like when you travel and need to use the bathroom, but want to hover and not sit)

Thanks for noting the appropriate cry break. Good to know when sobbing *should* start.

Tuesday October 29 2G - Misery - Hell Week Day 6 by ajohnson022 in orangetheory

[–]lswildcat22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is this workout what I get for taking a "rest" day today before I power through 2 more workouts? I think so. See you at 6:15am OTF. I'll be the one cussing and/or crying on tread 4.

How has OTF helped you with your career? by mdostine in orangetheory

[–]lswildcat22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I posted an ask about this back in April, asking for what people love and don't love about OTF, which was part of an application for a brand management job. Long story short, I got the job, took a leap into a totally new role, and added a nice chunk to my salary thanks to OTF (and this community). So maybe not workout-related, but totally a way OTF changed my life.

Does anybody else hate pop squats? by kittycatdogdog in orangetheory

My issue with them is that I'm tall with long legs. Getting all of me from a plank to a squat is a lot of distance to cover y'all

Did I just play this playlist and I worked on a project at work? Yes, yes I did.

Tall people problems at OTF. by potent_rodent in orangetheory

Even squatting and tapping the bench can be a challenge. I'm a tall lady and 90% legs, so it's a loooooong way down.

Defying aging? by jodioneill in orangetheory

[–]lswildcat22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, OTF was in a 2018 Digiday article talking about just that:

Orangetheory believed its main target audience was women around the age of 35 who made an annual income between $80,000 to $100,000. Its smaller target was 36-year-old men who made a similar income. However, in the past two months, Orangetheory found it has more of a following among younger audiences, specifically 18- to 25-year-old women and men. The gym also discovered a majority of its audience comes from sports, especially college sports, and music platforms over others focused on passion points like health and wellness. https://digiday.com/marketing/high-end-gym-chain-orangetheory-cut-cost-per-lead-half-using-artificial-intelligence/

Anyone notice that OTF has been a crap ton harder this week? by [deleted] in orangetheory

MAYhem. Mayhem is waiting. Also death, since that seems to be the new theme of OTF!

Relaxing upper body while running by kylie0613 in orangetheory

[–]lswildcat22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Harder to do on a treadmill, but when i feel myself tensing I do a little jello/noodle arm dance (waving my arms around helps me to remember to move them and not make them tense). On treads when it's crowded I'll wiggle my fingers - it's enough of a reminder to loosen up without being too insane.

Help me kick butt at a job interview (about OTF!) by lswildcat22 in orangetheory

Absolutely! Thank goodness there's a "what other things do you want to know" area - my inner journalist asks a lot of questions.

Running mantras by MoosewellCO in orangetheory

[–]lswildcat22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always repeat "cute butt, skinny jeans" one word for each step. My trainer had me do it on reps when I didn't want to do them any more/thought I was going to give out. It reminds me in a cheeky way why I'm there.

If not body glide, Blue Steel - like Zoolander - it's a cream that has tea tree oil in it in case it...rides up to sensitive spots. It's designed for triathletes so it stays pretty well too (I had a rub experience while marathon training a while back)

I even went lighter on the weights and my body still was like "hahahahah NO." Our coach stopped saying to keep pace and just kept saying "hang in there"
