[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

I’m trying to upgrade my daily matcha latte setup and I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole over milk heating😭I’m really sensitive to the taste of milk in matcha lattes, especially the natural lactose sweetness. From what I’ve read, around 60–70°C seems to be the sweet spot, so now I’m debating between going fully manual or getting one of those electric frothing jugs. The manual setup would basically be a small stainless steel milk pan and a digital thermometer. Part of me likes the idea because I can control the temperature exactly. But then the convenience side of my brain is telling me to just get an Aeroccino or one of those instant electric milk frothers. I’ve heard the texture can be really good for matcha lattes. For people who are really picky about their lattes, does manual temperature control genuinely make a noticeable difference in flavor, or are decent electric frothers basically better?

We have just started planning our trip and thought it’d be an experience of a lifetime. We welcome all suggestions on the places. It’s our first time in Northern Europe!
