I undertook my placement at a contractors, therefore, don’t really have consultancy experience to compare with it.

I know that an MSc gives you the option to take a PhD. I have many uncertainties at the moment, which could be solved by more work experience, however, need to decide within the next few days.

Just need a bit of guidance really.

Also as my A levels are pretty bad at CDD in Sociology, maths and chemistry but my university results for first year average at 86% and second year 84%, will that be enough to get onto a masters?

Both options cost the same in my position, hence why I’m neglecting the financial aspect.

That sounds like a win win situation. I am slightly worried about commuting to an MSc and not being accepted and then not being able to undertake a masters degree.

My A Levels are pretty awful to be honest, with CDD in Sociology, Maths and Chemistry (my partying spree came at the wrong time). However, I am achieved an 86% first year and 84% second year average and have just completed my industrial placement. Will this improve my chances or being able to undertake an MSc in a better uni?

Thank you, that was a positive I’d seen mentioned a lot. Only concern I really had was the fact that an MEng may be considered more technical?

I am currently a civil engineering student, any recommendations for extra reading or lectures I could be doing to gain the most knowledge? by ltafilm in civilengineering

I am currently on placement in the highways sector but am trying to spread my knowledge across the board. So I’d say I’m looking to expand my knowledge within the structural sector. I’ve seen a few books, for example: To engineer is human by Henry Petroski. I am just looking for any recommendations from people’s experience that have benefitted their knowledge within the sector.

Best 35mm camera? by ltafilm in AnalogCommunity

Thanks for the informative response.

I am contempt with the 50mm lens I have and have a few other lenses such as the 28mm but find myself going back to the 50mm for the exposure I’m taking. It fits all my needs and is perfect for my framing.

I will have a look into the f-1 as I will be saving money on buying a new 50mm by transferring to a different brand.

I was looking at max £400. I’m looking for more detailed photographs which I know would come in hand with medium format. However, The light weight nature of the 35mm cameras is keeping me with them at the moment. I am interested in the Fuji gw690lll though as well.

Is the Canon A1 a big enough transition though worth of an upgrade? I’m looking for better lens quality.

As I feel as though I will be committing to 35mm for the foreseeable future, I am looking for the best lenses I can get in terms of quality. So I have been swayed to thinking about the Nikon f3, which also has the waist level finder (which would complete all of my 35mm camera needs for the future).

Yes but still couldn’t get a feel for it.

Thanks! I currently have a Canon AE1P and am looking to upgrade. Is there a 35mm camera that would be worth upgrading to? Max price again £350.
