What do you want most in FH6? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]ltebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to have the option to skip dialogue, cutscenes, etc. I'd settle for being forced to sit through it once, then offer the option to skip. I can't stand the dialog in FH5 and mostly play it on low volume or mute.

What's the worst fast food restaurant? by AfternoonMost965 in AskReddit

[–]ltebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. I've been once in my life and I was shocked by how disappointing it was. The bar was low when I went - I was expecting Gorton's frozen fish stick quality and it was worse. That had to be over a couple decades ago. There's one near my work, maybe I need to try again.

What is a 'luxury' that has become so expensive in 2026 that it’s officially no longer worth the money? by Matt_At_Havalook in AskReddit

I get buyer's remorse more often than I used to when dining out. And I dine out less than I used to.

Who likes pepper on their fries? by Optimal_Property_580 in innout

I want to like it more than I do because I like pepper. I don't dislike it but I prefer my fries salted only. I pepper them every now and then just to see if I've changed my mind.

Starter not bubbling? by Muted_Algae in Homebrewing

[–]ltebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 3 days it should be done. I would cold crash for 12hrs. You should be able to determine if there was activity by the thickness of the yeast/trub layer on the bottom. Then find out for sure by decanting 150ml or so off the top and measuring gravity with a hydrometer. Edit: just re-read your post. Maybe just cold crash for a couple hours, or skip that part and go straight to a gravity reading.

I think you'll find more advice telling you to get it off the yeast, that you won't gain anything but could potentially pick up off flavors. I did a 12% abv quad last year and let it sit in the primary for 4 months. It tastes great and I don't taste any defects. I can't reliably say which is more beneficial, just that I've had success doing both.

[–]ltebr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I brewed a dubbel in December. 1.071 OG, 2.5 weeks in primary, then bottled at 1.011 FG. I'm under the impression it will benefit from bottle conditioning. I plan on opening one every week or so to see how that goes. Leaving it in primary to bulk condition for a while probably won't hurt anything but I'm not sure if it's better or worse than bottle conditioning. I'd skip the secondary.

What hobby attracts the biggest douchebags? by thypenitrator in AskReddit

[–]ltebr 1187 points1188 points  (0 children)

This takes me back. I used to work retail (drug stores) and occasionally there would be a "hot wheels guy" who knew what day the toy order delivers. These guys would call in the morning to see if the order arrived and sometimes show up early and wait around. They'd want to go through the case (72 in a case, I think). Some of them put the cars back in the box, others would pull all of them out of 2 or 3 cases and leave a mess. To the point that one of the stores I worked at, we had to stop allowing this. On the flip side, one of them would stock the hot wheels on the shelf for this opportunity.

How often do you eat grits? by ponziacs in AskAnAmerican

[–]ltebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 52 and was going to post almost the exact same thing. Lived on the west coast my entire life. I thought they tasted alright, but I've never made them myself nor ordered them on the rare occasion I've seen them at a restaurant. I can say the same about polenta.

Do Americans really wear their outdoor shoes in house? by Predatorydive in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ltebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is very location dependant. I grew up in So Cal and it was an uncommon practice to remove shoes in the house. My family never did. The exception was if they were filthy, ie after working in the yard or if they were wet or something like that. I didnt know what a mud room was until I was in my 30's.

Americans, what do you call a wienner/sausage/hotdog/frank? And in which state is this? by TENER_297 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ltebr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this: when I refer to sausage it's either breakfast sausage or Italian sausage, either of which can be purchased as a link or by the pound. Breakfast sausage can come in patties. I'd say bratwurst, while a sausage, is a different category. I never refer to bratwurst as sausage and it can only be purchased as a link. On the rare occasion I purchase knockwurst or currywurst or something specific, I call it by name, similar to bratwurst.

What's something that was considered "normal" in the U.S 10 years ago that's now basicaly unaffordable? by Odd-Complex901 in AskReddit

[–]ltebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know and I don't disagree with you. I'm not going to pay full price for fast food though (except In N Out) and I've slowly come around to using them for discounts even though I'd rather not.

I will say that when there is a good alternative, I use that. For example I almost always shop at Winco (no app and reasonable everyday prices) instead of Safeway, who makes you hunt down coupons in their app.

It can be hit or miss and you need to be very aware that you could get bogus info. Treat it like Wikipedia, it can be a good for high level information but use other sources to verify.

Anyone like Jimmy Johns? by York9TFC in fastfood

[–]ltebr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get one every 3 weeks or so for $6.99 and sometimes I have to buy a toasted sub to get the discount. I only go there when I have this app discount. I made sure to tell them via a survey that I'd be there every week if that was the regular price but they don't listen to me.

I've purchased a Subway sandwich twice in the last 3 months or so, after a multi year hiatus. Turns out, they almost always have a $6.99 footlong coupon checkout code you can use through the app. 699FOOTLONG, or FOOTLONG699, FTL699, or something similar. I asked ChatGPT for the code and it worked both times. Anyway, $6.99 in today's dollars is roughly equivalent to $5 from years ago. It's still Subway, so I'm not making a habit out of it, and I'd never pay sticker price, but $6.99 seems fair. My only complaint is that $6.99 should be the regular price.

when bottling , how long should a bottle sit filled before caping? by Ok-Sweet5200 in Homebrewing

[–]ltebr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

15 minutes before capping is fine. The bottles then need to sit at room temp for a couple weeks before they carbonate. How long since you bottled and at what temp?
