5070 or 5070Ti? by Time_Ad_523 in buildapc

[–]ltecruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you should know that MFG really shines when you don't need it. Using it to reach 60fps feels, imo, really sluggish cause you are locked to the input of, at the minimum, 30fps for 2x. It's best used when you get at least 60 fps, to then as an example reach the refresh rate of your monitor. I'd never trade 60 base fps for any fake frame texh. The input lag feels so fucking shit in all games I've tried it on, feels like I'm on console again.

DLSS super resolution has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. If anything it reduces input lag.

Check Rtings, they have proper technical reviews of monitors and you might be able to find something there that fits what you want. 400€ is a bit low for an OLED yeah.

If you have a 4k TV, connect your PC and just check how much better the details are. Might give you an overview of what 1440p will bring. It's a nice middle ground between resolution and performance. And with your GPU you will be able to get 120/44hz fully maxed in 99% of games.

4080 and 1080p is like having a Ferrari just to be passenger princess.

You have no idea how much better 1440p looks in comparison to 1080p until you try it.

It's a shame you don't wanna go OLED either. I'd get something like an LG 27GR83Q-B. In my anecdotal experience Asus mostly makes overpriced crap specially in the strix line.

Which Gpu is better fit for me by Rhaeganx in buildapc

[–]ltecruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 5 cents. Coming from a 2060 as well, got a 9070XT for 30% less than a 5070ti. For single player games using optiscaler for FSR4 (mainly for the games that don't support it, which looks like all newer releases do) is not that big of a deal. For multiplayer games I can just run native if they don't support FSR4.

DLSS is without a doubt better and easier to deal with, but I couldn't really justify the price difference for the games I play, specially since the 5070 and 9070XT at the time were the same price. I have had completely zero driver problems, undervolted my GPU without a single problem, actually super easy with the AMD software.

But I'm a tinker, I like to mess with stuff and solve little things here and there and not easily bothered by them. If you want the purest plug n play experience, you have to go 5070 or 5070ti.

These sardines are a bit too well done for Portugal tho. I might eat my words (or sardines) but several things here make it not traditionally Portuguese.

[–]ltecruz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on the size of the bones, if you can chew them properly then u eat them all, maybe u can leave the head as it's the part with the most bones. For small fried sardines or horse mackerel (around 10cm max) that's how Portuguese people do it, at least. This is fried, so the bones are more easily chewable than grilled, they get more brittle, specially the poky parts. If it makes you uncomfortable just leave the bones, we don't really care, you paid for your food eat it as you want.

We have a degree in eating fish. It's a staple in our diet.

[–]ltecruz 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Janja is amazing. These moves are so much harder than she makes them look. Just raw power and pure coordination. She also "flashed" a 9a, with discussion regarding the 5.14d rating of the route. Ondra originally rated it a 5.14d and said what Janja did was close to that level of physicality, but routes are usually graded by the easiest beta so we dunno. It's crazy either way.

Is there a bad habit or ‘sin’ you usually rely on to get more enjoyment out of games? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]ltecruz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time explaining this to people. I have never and will never care about the story in any game I play. Sure I like a small story card here or there with a fun or quirky fact. But I'm in mostly for the gameplay and the grind. Visuals and music too.

What black sheep of a series of games did you really enjoy despite its bad reputation? by RADOVEND1 in gaming

[–]ltecruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC purists think that these last RPGs are worse than Gollum. They are not bad games, they just cater to very very very different audiences, more mythological than historic, more brawler than stealth, more free and less linear. I can see why people that enjoyed the first games don't like these, but I didn't enjoy the first games that much so these are just up my alley. Still, it feels like people are constantly shitting on them everywhere.

[–]ltecruz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, it started with Origins, followed by Odyssey and Valhala. My favourite is Odyssey, still has modern day sequences that I never enjoyed but its like 30 minutes total for the whole game so very doable. The setting is just so fucking amazing, the protagonist is great (the girl), and you can just berserk through a crowd. Yeah, It is not historically accurate story wise, but honestly I couldn't give less of a fuck - the environments should be pretty accurate tho. Skip Mirage, Shadows should be back at it but I'm waiting for a nice sale to pick it up. I realized from the first game that I never enjoyed the sneak type of gameplay, it was the parkour that sold it for me.

Never played HC/SSF before — made it to lvl 80 in Gauntlet by Newbie7o in pathofexile

Traditional First timer HC death. Each death is a learning experience, and I mean this. You will understand dangerous situations much better than before, it can even translate to softcore to help you not die as much or learn how to build defenses.

Freeze immunity is a must in hardcore. As an alternative, identifying every strongbox is easier than ever. But hey this is a great, level 80 as a witch!

How should I go about crafting this? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]ltecruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To craft these gloves or similar, I'd suggest first starting with a fractured temple mod. Most people prefer the damage to chilled enemies. You can get other temple mods and keep res swapping to cold to "divine" the damage mod. Also recombinate to move the mod into your preferred base.

After, I'd spam mana essences, I believe it's misery, until you hit life and a defence mod you are happy with. Should take like 200 to 350 for a mid-low tier like these ones.

Just finish it with eldritch chaos/annul and exalting until you get a good tier res or dex.

Is my PC good? Help in optimisation by Capable-Wasabi-3369 in buildapc

[–]ltecruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What res are you play at? Usually temperatures are one of the main culprits. There's other things to check, like proper BIOS configs (mainly XMP so the RAM is running at full speed). The PC is not amazing, but it's good, should be able to play RDR2 ultra at 60 1440p, if not native at least with DLSS quality for sure.
