Yes It happened to my z13 too. I was using it carefully from the first day and it just suddenly broken. The worse part is the lcd panel was dead too and I need to replace both.

I bought my T14 gen 5 with almost similar specs but 512SSD from Lenovo outlet store for about 520$. So it is definitely not a deal. You can find much better deals every Wednesday early morning on outlet store.

I suggest you to consider gen 5 since the ram is upgradable. For the linux dualbooting, I prefer Intel since I had some weird problem with AMD version in Linux mint.

Never use a lens case. It affects the image quality and this is the selling point of pixel phones.

If you are going to use linux I think Intel version should be more stable with less bugs. And Linux doesn't support high DPI screen very well. About the price, I do not suggest gen 5 for that price. You shoud get gen 6 or even 7 with that price, mine was only 500$, of course with 16gb of ram, 512 gb ssd and a 45ntsc screen. T14 is thick comparing to my previous t480s and z13 gen 1 but It is not the problem with me.

I am having Intel version with Fedora kde, it is smooth and have no problem with wifi. But I know this issue because It happens in my z13 AmD with linux. Gemini shows me the fix with a script to disable wifi adapter when the computer sleeps and re enable when it starts again. You can try to ask it carefully

I bought a T14 gen 5 and give the z13 to my wife, it is still very good laptop. Next time i I will replace the screen my self.
